Color Palettes: Traveling
September 7th, 2006 in Developer's Toolbox | 6 Comments
OK. We’ve seen a lot of them. Over the last few months we observed literally hundreds of web-resources related to color and color theory. We’ve seen a lot of lists, catalogs and color resources: numerous color charts, color tools, color schemes and color showcases, color inspiration sites, color combos are supposed to provide web-developers with tools which make the selection of usable color palettes easier. But still - what color patterns should you use for your projects? Are monochromatic patterns more usable than the complementary ones? And what color combinations are your competitors using - you wouldn’t like to send false signals to your customers, would you?
We provide you with color palettes and color combinations which are being used in different branches of modern life - such as Traveling, Insurance, Business, Management, Web 2.0, Software Development etc.
Traveling
Traveling companies are supposed to present themselves in colourful and attractive palettes. Of course, Blue and Yellow dominate - they stand for Sea and Beach.

This is pretty interisting, considering that I am busy writing something on the topic of colour at the very moment. It would also be interisting to see whether there are any cultural differences. Is the blue and yellow, for example, a western bias…? Yet, I cannot see that much of a geograohic diversity across the different travel agencies, so that question will probably remain unanswered…

Very interesting stuff. Wonder if you are using genopal to select the colors ? The colors do provoke sentiment realted to the agency. You can also create color schems from pictures Link [www.pic2color.com] . The relationship between color and emotion is complex and interesting

I’d be very interested to know how you created your color samples? Did you use an automated tool? This would be very useful for design-related competitive analysis. Thanks!
