Smashing 1st Anniversary Giveaway
September 6th, 2007 in Events | 1855 Comments
On Monday we’ve presented 40+ books for professional design and development. We’ve ordered most of them and are giving them away to our readers. However, if you think that we were planning to celebrate with few excellent books-giveaways, you should think again.
Few weeks ago we’ve chosen some of the useful services we’ve been using or would be happy to use developing a new web-project. We’ve contacted designers and developers and we asked them to celebrate our anniversary with us — giving away some software packages, licenses, accounts and credits. What came out of it is 48 53 presents we are happy to give you away for free - as the appreciation of your trust, your interest and your support over the last year.
How can I participate?
To participate, you have to
- answer the question
“What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear “Smashing Magazine”?”
in the comments to this post (one word is enough),
- choose one item in the list you like most and post the number right after the answer (on the next line).
Please notice that
- participants can post comments until the 13th of September,
- the winners will be determined by chance - among the group of visitors who’d like to have the same present,
- only participants who’ve selected one item listed can participate and
- make sure that you fill your e-mail in the comment field correctly, so we can contact you afterwards.
- German-speaking readers have a special bonus to win - you’ll find it in the end of both table and list.
Below you’ll find the table of all presents you can win by commenting on this article. Below the table you’ll find the list of our sponsors and the full description of our presents.

The editor provide syntax coloring, line numbering, auto completing, block editing, find/replace-management, international support, etc. And if you need to SSH into a server and run some MySQL queries, or restart Apache, or debug some PHP in real time, there’s only one way you’re gonna do it: terminal.
2.Book:
5x Mobile Web Design
by Cameron Moll
A web standards approach for delivering content beyond the desktop. Much has been written about mobile devices. Plenty has been written about developing websites for the so-called “standards era” of the web. However, little has been written about the two colliding. This resource aims to fill that void.

Bonus: 10% limited-time discount coupon off the price for all Colorschemer products — for Smashing Magazine’s readers.

4.File Management:

Powerful Debugging will let you keep track of your progress in the Milestones interface and make big changes without any risk of losing your work.
8.Mind Mapping Software:
1x OmniGraffle Professional
