Best Technology Blog Nomination

Smashing Magazine has been nominated for the Best Technology Blog in the 2007 Weblog Awards, the world’s largest blog competition. Being the only web design-related magazine among other nominees, we’re competing against mighty Lifehacker, Engadget and Gizmodo which are long way ahead of us. However we strongly believe that together with thousands of further smashing readers you can make a difference.

The voting closes November 8, 2007; you can vote once every 24 hours, as determined by your IP address.

Thank you. We appreciate your support.

The team here at Smashing Magazine. Mostly Sven & Vitaly.

Hmm sorry, I don’t think Smashing Magazine can stand up to sites like Engadget or Gizmodo or Lifehacker.

I love Smashing Magazine but it is not a technology weblog but a web developer weblog and that is a limited technology (if I might call it like that).

Congratulations on your nomination, but I didn’t vote for you. Best web developer weblog: you have my vote.

I subscribe to a whole load of feeds in my reader and a few are listed on that site – R\WW, Engadget, LifeHacker – but while they likely have FAR more page views than Smashing Mag does, I would bet my life that the overall quality isnt nearly as high as SM is and thats why you got my vote.

It seems that the editors here always have smashing articles. I am a true believer in quality over quantity and SM does a good job keeping the quality high and not giving us filler posts.

    Keep up the good work!

Voted! Gizmodo and Endgadget will win though, I hate to say it. They just have a raw user machine behind them.

I voted for you cause you’re surely the best development blog I read from many years… But seeing other websites, I think there’s a mistake : they are not in the same categories as yours. You’ll perhaps not be the winner of this contest, but be certain you’re better than others in the web development sphere…

Best regards from France and good luck!
