I love love LOVE that you have created this!
It would be nice if the search feature were a little more advanced–I’d like to be able to search by location, for instance.
Reginald (February 27th, 2008, 10:23 am)
I love the concept. I expect it will be a great pull considering the service offered is free. People love free. I think the site holds a lot of promise.

is there something wrong with the feed, guys?
i can not get the feed working when i try to add it on my reader nor click the feed link directly on browser.

cool job board, guys! :)
Michael (February 27th, 2008, 11:05 am)
@jessabean: it`s already possible to search for a location with the existing search function. But for the future more advanced search options are in the pipeline.
Cheers//Michael

Lisa (February 27th, 2008, 8:46 pm)
Just thought you might wanna know that the “S” in “JOBS” looks like it isn’t kerned properly, and the other spacing in that word is inconsistant with the kerning in “SMASHING”. Maybe I’m just anal. I don’t know.
Awesome idea though!
Eric (February 27th, 2008, 11:01 pm)
Nice job on the jobs page. It would be cool if people could upload their resume.
I love the work you guys are doing, I just learned about Smashing a few month’s ago, and it is my favorite site!
Brian B (February 27th, 2008, 11:34 pm)
I like the pages. A couple of suggestions:
1. Make the job posters put a salary/hourly rate or range. I hate having to go through the effort only to find out the rates are half of what I normally get. It is painful and gives employers an opportunity to undercut the market rates.
2. I wonder about the top bar navigation. It took me a while to realize that this is a magazine and not a complete job website. I would separate the Jobs section into a new domain and then link to that domain from the main site. I am still confused as to where I am right now….on a blog, a job site, a magazine?
Brian B
Gerd Wippich (February 28th, 2008, 12:56 am)
I agree with Brian B, and I think as it grows the job page needs more search criteria and orientation. I do not only want to search for Designer/Programmer, but also for job location, salary etc.
Otherwise a good idea. Good luck with this project!

I’ve seen the site yesterday, hope it will feature a lot of job offers in the future.
Congrats on the launch!

Firstly great job site, well done!
Was wondering if anyone knows of any good Wordpress Plugins to create similar job sections on our own sites? I don’t want to populate others jobs but to have the feature so employers can add there own directly. Is there a plugin system like this?
Cheers for the help

This website is among my top favorites. You guys are prime examples of what kind of web designer i wish i was. Good luck with the new job board!!
PrabhakaranG (February 28th, 2008, 10:59 pm)
Thats really a fabulous thing to see from Smashing. You guys have done a very good job. Also I would like to suggest onething: You can even place this RHS Smashing Jobs Panel jobs list relevant to the article you post. E.g. In Web 2.0 Design Trends article page, you can place list of Web designers jobs relavant to that! What do you think.
Expecting your thought in this.
