Now that’s a lovely little extra to find in my stocking on Christmas Eve! Had it been distributed as true GPL I would have suggested that you make Wordpress.org aware of it.

In discussing Link [wordpress.org], Jane indicated one feature they are thinking of is a new theme to ship with the core release set. It would be both an alternative to Kubrick and one for people who are beginning to look to customize Wordpress A “sandbox” of sorts. Were this GPL it would be a great fit for those and a link in the admin area for .com and .org users would be worth far more visibility over the long-term I imagine.

    Just a thought. Merry Christmas!

@adii You could make that case. You could also make the case that both borrow a lot of style / inspiration from the tuts grouping of Envato sites too.

I’m starting to see why Matt feels the way he doesn about GPL as the derivitive work aspect could apply greatly in these cases. It need not result in legal or social upheval. Merely give credit where credit is due or fork for yourself if you are so inclined :)

That´s a great Christmas gift indeed - it´s cute with the Christmas stuff and without it´s a clean and bright theme and could be used for everything. Many thanks for sharing that, happy holidays and greetings from Austria!

    that’s nice … i probably wouldn’t use it though.

however, that RSS snow globe is very cool. is there any way to get that icon by itself?

  33. 33.

    Greg Huntoon (December 26th, 2008, 8:46 pm)

What a nice little present to give all of your readers. Seems to be a really nice theme. Something tells me we’re going to see a bunch of this theme start to crop up in the fall as Xmas sites start to launch and ready for the Xmas season.

    Happy Holidays!

  34. 34.

    DKumar M. (December 27th, 2008, 12:45 am)

@david - Please visit “Smashing Christmas Icon Sets” to get that “RSS snow globe” icon or you can find all the icons information in readme.txt which is included inside theme .zip file.

Well, I’m going to be honest and say that it looks like a load of disparate stock image library christmas trinkets tacked on to yet another cookie cutter theme. What’s the point?

Nice theme, but it should be tested in Opera, because there are few bugs. Opera is almost 3 times more popular than Safari.
