March 5th, 2009 11:52 amWhile there are a few tutorials here that I haven’t seen before, I gotta say I’m pretty sick of seeing those psdtuts.com tutorials EVERYWHERE as if people only read one design blog or something and haven’t seen them on multiple sites. Not that they aren’t nice tuts, they’re very high quality, just way too cross-posted. That being said, it is still a nice list with definitely a lot of text effect tutorials.

March 5th, 2009 2:09 pmsome tuts are great but some are real crap although they come from normally high quality sites like PSDTUTS. E. g. the flaming meteor text effect is totally bad described and the comments are full of shoulder patting but no help from the author or site owner… this list itself is nice, but somehow have seen most of them before.

March 5th, 2009 10:48 pmHey guys, I’m sorry. I love all your posts and I think you guys usually show amazing stuff. But this These text effects weren’t really saying stunning to me! I’m Sorry! the only one that was stunning was “Create Destructive Black and White Lettering with a Dramatic Splash Effect” Most of this stuff were graphics clipped into a text or some fancy lights and shadows… and or bad mix of coloring with tacky executions… I will say this though… You got me commenting… I had to… only because I love your site! and I come here religiously for inspiration about design and technology!

Most of these blogs are posting the same things nowadays. (Smashing Apps copies this blog, I feel) Everyone wants to get rich off of posting “100″ resources kinds of posts, so you see the same thing everywhere. Only so much to post, so there are a lot of repeats.
I really wish that someone would put in a lot more thought and instead of searching google for “x-tutorials” (which we can all do) they would actually break down why something is effective and back it up with some usage stats.
Too many blogs posting the same thing and links to 500 sites. Please do some original work.
On the other hand, I do come to this site every day, so you must be doing something right!
