45 Amazing Examples of Code Generated and 3D CG Artworks

The most interesting thing we like about art is that it is independent of any medium; an artist can express himself without any limitations or restrictions by creating a wonderful and creative piece of art. A creative artist can come up with an inspirational and motivational thought and put that in their artwork in such a way that it becomes a masterpiece that dazzles our mind.

In this post we present some amazing examples of Code Generated, Algorithmic Abstract Artworks and CG Artworks. There are some really interesting platforms and libraries; by using them, artists can create unusual artworks. Most popular among these libraries are Flash Scripting, Generator.x1, Processing (Java Based)2, openFrameworks (C Based)3 and for creating CG Art, artists are often using 3D Max, Maya, Zbrush, V Ray, Photoshop etc.

Hopefully, you’ll love them and will find them creative or inspirational. Please explore the further works of the artists linked below and also feel free to suggest other artworks in the comments to this post.

3D Computer Graphic Artworks

In this section, we have collected some truly fantastic CG Artworks (3D Computer Graphics). The most incredible thing about 3D Graphics is that you can recreate any image on your computer that will looks very much like the real thing. Sometimes this 3D rendering becomes so incredible that nobody can hardly tell a difference between the real image and a computed one.

These 3d artists are good but you should have included psychoform he is the best 3d artist in the world today. nobody even comes close. check out his work…this bitch does not play around. http://www.psychoform.com/

  2. 2

    GREAT GREAT artlcle

  3. 3

Wow, what an excellent collection. Some of these are just amazing.

  4. 4

    wow…complicated texture…

  5. 5

I wish I had modeling and texturing skills like that…

  6. 6

These are awesome! I hadn’t heard of this. It’ll be interesting to see if it gets some mainstream momentum and where it pops up. Great find!

  7. 7

I must admit that in CG graphic is still recognizable as a artificial image. I don’t knot what is missing, by you can see it on for example “Night Elf” or “Binah” which are very artificial. But “green cargo” “Porsche”, “Young girl” & “Artist” (I don’t know if “Artist” is CG) are very close to reality. “Green cargo” is best in this angle of view.

  8. 8

Nice collection! I am still amazed at the bottom ones and how realistic they are. Amazing. Much kudos to the designers.

  9. 9

AWESOME article, way to go Smashing, I’m totally amazed by these images!!

Truly amazing. Forwarded to my friends :)

  11. 11

Actually…art is NOT independent of any medium. But neither is it bound by traditional media. And you could say the same of computing.

A more interesting thing about art is why you call it ‘art’ in the first place.

  12. 12

Wooowwww!! Really great..!! it’s a visual treat..! The god gave them skills, and a computer. They make it…!

  13. 13

Those code generated paintings are so good. It sort of inspired me to write some just as beautiful. Thank you for this bad ass posting!

  14. 14

    Thats is truly amazing!

  15. 15

you know a tutorial or something to make that Code Generated Artworks??

  16. 16

You should check out David O’Reilly. Some of his stuff is weird, but the atheistic of his digital art is original and interesting. He’s done work in video by removing keyframes and letting the digital “mess” that results become art. Cool stuff.

  17. 17

Magnificent! especially love code generated artwords, its new for me, you have a really great post.

  18. 18

They all look like real paintings or photographs. This is cool!

  19. 19

Blimey – some of those skin tones are amazing. One small criticism of metallic objects is that they often look just a little too shiny. This applies to graphics in video games (although they’re often stunning, they just don’t quite look ‘right’.)

  23. 23

psychoform IS the best in the world. Hands down come on. Nothing touches him.

  24. 24

    Amazing!!! Really like it.

  25. 25

my friend’s, they also do this kind of stuff. check it out .

  26. 26

while most users are shocked about how good are the CGI 3D models, what amazes me are the first ones, those abstract forms are really incredible!

  27. 27
