Desktop Wallpaper Calendar: February 2010

Desktop wallpapers can serve as an excellent source of inspiration. However, if you use some specific wallpaper for a long period of time, it becomes harder to draw inspiration out of it. That’s why we have decided to supply you with smashing wallpapers over 12 months. And to make them a little bit more distinctive from the usual crowd, we’ve decided to embed calendars for the upcoming month. So if you need to look up some date, isn’t it better to show off a nice wallpaper with a nice calendar instead of launching some default time application?

This post features 70 free desktop wallpapers, created by designers across the globe. Both versions with a calendar and without a calendar can be downloaded for free.

  Agree, I’ve gone with home sweet clothing almost in protest.
  I do love the mix of hand drawn and digital work in it. Calendar location is best for me too
  At least Easter is in April this year so no influx of rabbits and eggs next month ;-)

Wow! There are so many options and great quality selections this month. I may have a different wallpaper for every day of the month.
The only surprise…there was only one themed for the Winter Olympics. It appears only one submission had any relation to this global event. I was really hoping to find something awesome tied to that theme. shucks!
But apparently, there was no shortage of inspiration from Valentine’s Day. Great work to all the artists!!

  Too much focused on Valentine’s Day, and to be honest, there are some wallpaper which are really poorly done.
  And most important of all, I believe that a wallpaper is something that needs to co-exist with your icons, and for some of those posted I could easily loose track of my icons on the screen, and there is no need to say that the calendars most of the time appears on very odd places…

Good grief, OBVIOUSLY there will be many Valentine’s wallpapers because (SURPRISE!) MANY PEOPLE CELEBRATE VALENTINES!
If they are of high quality, then they deserve to be here, regardless of what holiday they are about. Anyway, I find many non-love stuff here, which I am content in using because I too hate Valentine’s Day (but not enough to also hate those who celebrate it).

as every month, most of the designers forgot what is a wallpaper for, REMIND THIS: a wallpaper shouldn’t be annoying and distracting, should be neutral, and yous should be able to find your icons while using one… having said that
for me, the best ones both for usability and design are “Vanessa” by Lex Rusakoff and
Sairá by Romy Campos, besides most people aimed for valentines themed designs (lame)

For the most part, I always love the designs and creativity of the wallpaper. My only complaint is that 9 out of 10 calendars start on a Monday. Being from the US, this is quite annoying. There are so many awesome designs that I have to scroll by because it’s not a Sunday start! (I am aware that I can download without the calendar, but I need one on my desktop.) Why not include a calendar option that allows for a choice of the start day? Just a suggestion…

I can always count on your great artists for a fun and exiting mix. but, this month -WOWOWOWOW!!! Thanks! I’m having a hard time picking-there are SOOOO many good ones to choose from!! I am going to start out with Grung Love Hearts, then change every few days! Next I am picking Footprints, then February Sentense, then Snow Bike, then Snow Bird, then Colorful Winter.   2. APJ Kalam – scientist and former President of India
  3. Amitabh Bachchan – respected actor and Bollywood superstar
  4. Narayan Murthy – founder of Infosys
  5. Sachin Tendulkar – world famous cricket player
