February 23rd, 2010 6:22 amGreat theme, and I was able to use it with 2.9.2. Just a couple of notes:
- To get the simple thumbnails to work, I had to add the “thumbnails” folder myself with the proper permissions via FTP, then install the theme. I noticed the download on this site did not provie all of the plugin files. The “install” feature through the wp-admin plugin area did not do it either. My solution? I downloaded the files from the plugin page, uploaded via FTP, and it worked.
- I do not get the contact page error – but you should verify that the settings are all correct on the designpile settings area for the contact section. I also do not get the navigation issue – my pages are set by page ID, with no added plugins, and are working great.
- The ad section. I could not get the 2 column to work either. However, I did after I went into the plugin editor for the WP125 plugin, went to the CSS, and changed the padding from 10 px to 2 px in the last section/paragraph. You can give that a try.
- Yes, you can change the graphics quite easily. The easiest way to do it is to locate the images in the theme folder (under images) and edit them in Photoshop, then FTP them right on up to the same location on your server. Done! For logos, default thumbs, etc, I would use the options provided for the theme in the admin area under settings.
- I now have the site working great. My only question is the footer still has the design copyright to “designpile” and I cannot find the option to change it. I am, worried if I change it in the footer itself, I will violate the GPL and the template will stop working. I know better than to remove the “provider” of the theme, but my content is obviously not the copyright of designpile.
- You can see my site, though I am still working on it, at blues.jfrewald.com. I would be happy to help those I can help, since SM has helped me so much in the past.
Great theme!

February 23rd, 2010 8:41 pmPretty clean, but is WordPress ruining web design? While they are easily accessible/modified and praised for that, is it taking a) business away from the freelancer, and b) is it making web design the mass-production market like other “factory” businesses?

THIS is the exception, awesome work!
To other WP theme designers, take note of the feedback here — clearly this is a good direction!

March 2nd, 2010 5:48 pmHey. I seem to be having a problem where image posts show up as an error box in my blog. I’ve tried all the fixes I could find on the web but am just absolutely stumped. I see a rather large picture on everyones version of the blog, but cannot find a way to post a large image. I’ve tried using the homepost tag, and worked with the thumbnail plugin quite a bit, but nothing is working. If I apply the homepost tag, no other blog posts show up. I’m stuck!! HELP! To see what exactly I’m talking about, check out logancollingwood.com

Make sure you have “Simple Post Thumbnails” installed, and “WP125″ Plugin installed. Next, make sure you add content to your sidebar using Appearence – Widgets -> Sidebar. You can drag items in there…

April 16th, 2010 7:33 amFor anyone experiencing the same problem as me above I have a solution. First off I tried editing the functions.php closing tag as a few people suggested but this had no effect for me. So in the end I uninstalled the zip (and I was sure that the zip was only the theme and not theme plus instructions) and then rather than uploading it again using the “upload zip” option, I instead pasted the unzipped folder directly into my theme folder. Then I refreshed my admin theme page and hit preview – it works now. Odd.

July 29th, 2010 9:40 amIs there a forum or support group for this theme? I’ve seen 2 people ask about how to get the featured post to work and it really hasn’t been answered so that everyone can understand. Also, I have tried to change the page of my post through the Settings/Reading section and the posts will not post to another page. Since this theme has a lot of tweeks that need to be done, it would be great if there was a forum.

July 29th, 2010 10:15 amOkay, I figured out how to add the featured post…
#1 – The first thing that you need to do is upload your photo. I used the “thumbnail” thing and it did not work for me, so I opened a free account with Photobucket. I went to the Photobucket account and uploaded the image I wanted to use. Once the image is uploaded, it will give you several ways to “share” the link. Click the link above the photo that says “share”, then click, “get a link code”. Copy the link for “Direct link for layout pages”.
Now go back to you blog.
#2 – Create a post as you normally would. You can name the post whatever you like and in the text area, you can type whatever you want to.
#3 – Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find “Custom Fields”. In the name field, you will put “featured_img” (without the ” marks). In the “Value” section, paste your Photobucket link.
#4 – Next, go over to the right of the screen and in the “Tags” section, type in the word: featured
Publish your post and there it is!
***Now this is how you answer a question (if you know the answer) :)
Edit:: I’ve been trying to figure out how you can “center” the image. If I figure it out, I will come back and explain. If someone else know, please share.

October 3rd, 2011 4:19 pmJust to clarify one thing, in WordPress v3.1+, the option to add/view Custom Fields is hidden if you have not used it before.
So go to the Screen Options drop down in the upper right corner of the screen and pull it down. Then check the “Custom Fields” checkbox. Then continue as normal as explained in the above comment.

October 3rd, 2011 5:20 pmTo answer your question about how to center the Featured Image:
#1 – Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
#2 – In the left column, look under the caption “Appearance” and click on “Editor”.
#3 – The style.css file in use should open up in the center column.
#4 – Look for this code:
#featuredPost .featuredDetails a img {
border:none;
}
#5 – Replace it with:
#featuredPost .featuredDetails a img {
border:none;
display:block;
margin-left:auto;
margin-right:auto;
}
#6 – Hit “Update file” link.
That should work. I tried that for myself and it worked. Hope it works for others too.
Regards.

August 4th, 2010 5:37 pmI am having a problem with page navigation. You know the thing where there is a previous and next page. It has css code for it, just not implemented. I know there was a “fix” shown earlier in the posts, but the fix no longer works as I have just did it. 100% fresh clean install and simply replace home.php with the fixed home.php. Can anyone help me with the previous and next page thing? Oh and I am a super noob :D
EDIT: Just figured it out, you need to have over 10 posts in order for the navigation to show up on the bottom. Don’t know why considering you can set it so that there are only 6 posts on the front page . . . oh well solved :D

September 1st, 2010 9:11 pmCan anyone post a link to the fixed file? I tried uploading this to my site and when I activate it, it turned my whole page to blank white.
What could be the problem? :(
