Sale sticker on a pointer.
Box placed downright.
Blue ball.
Wallet with a green paper inside.
Arrow on a graph.
ID looking like a folder.
A gear near a paper.
A feather near a paper.
A pen near a paper.
Blue something stuck inside a drawer.
Blue dots over a white rectangle.
That is smashing unconscious associations. Never would use that.

July 19th, 2010 11:18 pmTo Andrey: Envy (also called invidiousness) is best defined as an emotion that “occurs when a person lacks another’s (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.

If you don`t like this, it`s your opinion. Can you show us your own work? or what you would use instead of this? I hate people saying this is bad, ugly.. what about to tell what to do to make it better?
Peter
July 20th, 2010 11:13 amIs he not allowed to express his opinion? What’s up with all these people telling others that they can’t judge?! Are you trying to impose a rule that every judgment has to be either positive or constructive? By not liking something I do express an opinion. And it’s not necessarily envious. I don’t like you. Do I envy you? No.

July 21st, 2010 11:57 amIt is so easy to make negative comments, and rip something apart. Instead do something productive. Offer creative feedback – constructive criticism!
We can wander the web all day finding gaping holes in design and development. But if you’re one of the people who say that it is no good and leave it at that then your opinion lacks integrity.

July 23rd, 2010 8:50 amIt’s called manners, Peter. When someone gives you a gift, you do not belittle it.
As for Keiron, it’s important to know when to criticize and when to remain silent. A good place to start is to offer your opinion when asked.
Keiron Lowe
July 22nd, 2010 6:50 amI agree with what Peter says, I posted some criticism on an earlier icon set and I got told not to criticise and just appreciate what were being given. I was grateful for the set but that doesn’t mean I HAVE to say its great and its perfect when there was an icon or two that was below the standards of the others.
Without criticism people don’t improve, there not encouraged to work harder and try even more. If there told there good when there not then they don’t feel the need to improve and get better.
But with this comment I agree with stolkramaker, if you are going to criticise then at least say why you don’t like them or what you would do to improve.

July 23rd, 2010 2:33 am…there not encouraged…
…they’re not encouraged…
If there told there good when there not…
If they are told they are good when they are not…
Please improve your grammar Keiron. I hope you feel the need to improve and get better.

July 19th, 2010 6:04 pmNice set.
Icons always seem so simple, yet are extremely difficult to create.
You never realize until you actually need them for an application.

February 4th, 2011 6:03 amyeah..so true…i used to criticize arts like that…but when i was creating my own system or designs, my instructor asked me to make a professional design that is good for business and such… so i can’t use animated icon with exaggerated design. hehehe so i decided to use icons like that. For me, level of criticism will depends upon your own standard of design (hope you get what i’m trying to say). Some designs are really meant for particular purpose…so you can’t just go and criticize other people’s creation. thank you.

actually how is putting our photo in the comment icon?

July 21st, 2010 11:59 amThe system uses gravatars (as do most blogs online)
You just register and it will automatically grab your avatar that is tied to that specific email address.

July 19th, 2010 11:11 pmI don’t know any CMS, which would have to use less than 12 icons. In my development, I still use famfamfam icons — and even there I can’t find what I want.

July 20th, 2010 12:17 amThe icons are looking great, BUT in my eyes its more “advertising” for pixel-mixer than an useful article. I hope that the quality of smashing magazine will not be afflicted with this type of “self-expression-articles”.

July 20th, 2010 2:22 amALL the freebies on Smashing are put out there to promote the designer/studio. That’s kind of the whole reason people do them. Not that it’s a bad thing, you don’t tend to get freebies of this quality outside SM and this way of doing things brings relatively unknown talent to the fore.

July 20th, 2010 10:18 amI think that most of you misinterpreted what Andrey Shipilov commented, by his last phrase.
I understanded that it was an compliment, that he never would thought that himself.
“smashing unconscious associations” someone?
At least, I hope that it was his intention.
Personally, I think it’s brilliant.
Congratulations, smashing work indeed.

July 20th, 2010 5:35 pmVery nice icons, but I can see them as more useful for a CRM than a CMS.

July 20th, 2010 11:45 pmDon’t get me wrong I love Icons and those look really good, but in fact I have never had the chance to use any Icons in an Iconpack that only consists of 12 icons. Because you always end up having 4 Icons and the 5th missing. And for me it’s not an option to use different Iconpacks together (they will most probably not fit). So thanks a lot for your effort and it’s great to have something with this quality for free, but I can’t see myself using it.
