A word from the designers
As always, here are some words from the designers of the set:
Dear Smashing Magazine readers,
IconEden’s 2nd birthday is coming! And we’re as excited about it as you’re. To celebrate our two years of rocking the icon design world, IconEden collaborated with Smashing Magazine to craft a small set of 60 wonderful icons called “iCandies”! And it’s all yours.
Similar to previous collections, iCandies comes in vector and pixel formats and can be immediately be built into your projects at no cost. You can use the icons for any commercial and personal projects.
Thank you very much, guys! We appreciate your efforts.

One question though, why don’t we see more icon sets in .svg format? Seems the obvious way to do it, as it would make them more flexible in size, and more customizable as well. Or even possibly .psd (or .xcf gets my vote) would make them more easily customized. Just a thought.

September 2nd, 2010 8:24 amI have the answer… Adobe don’t export to SVG properly in most cases, the best way is to export it to inkscape which works better in svg. But most of the designers prefer adobe instead of inkscape.. anyway, you can try using inkscape to import these icons and then export it from there to svg, and post the results :)

September 9th, 2010 9:54 amActually, if you want scalability and flexibility then .EPS (vector) is the industry standard. What the hell is inkscape anyway?
William Lee
September 12th, 2010 3:31 amActually, SVG is the W3C web standard, which would make it the web design industries’ standard. EPS is a proprietary, closed format while SVG is an open standard, can be defined in XML, and able to be rendered directly in all web browsers (except everyone’s favorite, IE of course).
Don’t know why I’m responding since you’re clearly trolling if you think you know something about vector graphics and have never heard of Inkscape. Might want to do a little research before flogging your ignorance next time. Thanks for playing!

May 25th, 2011 10:42 amThat was harsh.. plus from what I can gather Inkskape is not even a finished product yet.. I sure as hell haven´t heard about it before and I don´t think it is possible for anyone to truthly say they know about every single piece of software out there even if it is pertinent to their area of expertise…..
