Desktop Wallpaper Calendar: October 2010

Desktop wallpapers can serve as an excellent source of inspiration. However, if you use some specific wallpaper for a long period of time, it becomes harder to draw inspiration out of it. That’s why we have decided to supply you with smashing wallpapers over 12 months. And to make them a little bit more distinctive from the usual crowd, we’ve decided to embed calendars for the upcoming month. So if you need to look up some date, isn’t it better to show off a nice wallpaper with a nice calendar instead of launching some default time application?

This post features 45 free desktop wallpapers, created by designers across the globe. Both versions with a calendar and without a calendar can be downloaded for free.

Please notice:

  • all images can be clicked and lead to the preview of the wallpaper;
  • you can feature your work in our magazine1 by taking part in our desktop wallpaper calendar series. We are regularly looking for creative designers and artists to be featured on Smashing Magazine. Are you one of them?

So what wallpapers have we received for October 2010?

Another great collection of wallpaper calendars. Thanks. And can we have something more abstract for the next time :). Please! :)

  2. 2

    i like any browser & colours of october ~ ;D ..

  3. 3

Ah, awesome collection! I’m really confused which to use first. :D
My favorite designs are all of Olivia Bell’s, Sasha Bell’s love in autumn, Kristin G Jackson’s Jump into Fall, Anna-Lena Lewerenz’s The Colours of Octobers, and Violeta Dabija’s Halloween. Keep it up, guys! :)

  4. 4

They are all amazing this month !

  5. 5

I love “The Colours of October” by Anna-Lena Lewerenz!

  6. 7

all are awesome :) my fav : Mahatma-Gandhi

  7. 11

    Nice collection! Thanks a lot!!

  8. 12

Hi, I come here to get my monthly desktop, regularly! And I always find something I love! But, this month, I’m not so sure… :( Do all October desktop backgrounds have to be about Halloween?! Here in India, we don’t celebrate Halloween all that much. In fact, almost no one does!! And all I can find is one very dank and dreary picture of Gandhi… the message on it is nice, but not what I was looking for. Something bright, even something related to autumn…but bright….would have been nice…anyway, I guess I’ll just have to wait till next month to see something I like.

Keep up the good work at smashing magazine, guys! I really mean that…just feeling a little let down this time around.

    • 13

Actually, many wallpapers are not related to Halloween at all, especially the ones on the top of the page.

    • 14

Dear, I don’t think you have any idea about creativity. Prove me wrong and let’s see if you can create something like expectation for next month.

      • 15

        hai this is good

        • 16

My above comment is not for Vitaly but for Jane Hamilton. Sorry if you guys misinterpreted it.

@ Vitaly : Many Thanks for making Smashing Magazine

      • 17

my above comment is not for vitaly but for Jane Hamilton. Sorry if people have misinterpreted my comment.

@ Vitaly : Thanks a ton for making Smashing Magazine. :)

    • 18

I think there is only half of the wallpapers about Halloween. Mine (Above The Clouds) is quite bright I think, and no ghost or witch in it, just a cute giraffe :).
Is Smashing Magazine famous in India?
      Eugénie.

      • 19

        @Eugenie

        Nice work :-)

I like ur colors n style of work n make it my wall this month…Thanx

Well every designer follow smashing magazine in India.

    • 20

Yeah! somehow i am agree with you…. but another words we can choose one or two wallpapers..

I am not much happy this month..:(

  9. 21

Thanks for featured my “Any Browser”! Love you, guys! :D

    • 22

Do you allow using the “any-browser-but-latest-version”-picture cut-out and re-sized and used as an icon on websites?

  10. 23

    My Favorites For October:

1- As always “Oliva Bell” photographs are astonishing ! (will be my desktop background)
2- Montona Moon – Excellent Job
3- I really liked that Caterpillar Scraper !

  11. 24

Thank you very much for featuring my “The words i’ve never said to you”!! Great collection this month! i like “Pumpkin Spice Spookster” and “Marissa & Liloo” a lot!

I made Marissa & Liloo! I’m very glad you like it!
I’m thinking of drawing one every month!

      • 26

Marisso & lillo is gr8. I luv de creativity (Peice of water melon – de skirt). Waitin for more walls frm u.

    • 27

That’s the one I chose. Maybe sometime this month I’ll say those words.

  12. 28

Above The Clouds is my wallpaper for October :)
    Nice one again guys.

  13. 30

Thanks a million for including “Pumpkin Spice Spookster,” my submission! My favorites are “The Colours of October” and definitely “Eerie October.”

  14. 32

Rocktober yeah, way cool – thanks

  15. 33

    16th place

  16. 34

    Hey, great collection!
I think it would be cool if you could subscribe to “Smashing Calendar Channel” via Google homepage, so it would change automatically at the beginning of the month, maybe every artist would have his own channel or something.
    Just a thought

  17. 35

Not going to lie, the last couple months I have been bummer because it seemed the selection was not amazing, but October has come through. Great job this month guys!

  18. 36

Great collection :) My favorites are
    1. Mahatma Gandhi
    2. purple fall
    3. This month rocks
    4. The words i’ve never said

Great work by all the designers…

  19. 38

Wow, love the 3d October Calendar wallpaper most. Got to your site via Twitter by accident, but it wasn’t the last time I’ve visited your great site, thanx

  20. 39

    excellent collection. as always!

  21. 40

I love Olivia Bell photography and Sasha Bell drawings.

  22. 42

Any Browser FTW! – If only more people would listen to, and obey, its sentiment.

  23. 43

Love Olivia’s Hibernating designs, obviously got a foot fetish this month. Also love Montana Moon and Heavy Equipment = powerful photographs!

  24. 44

Very low level this time d0des :/
I really don’t understand Hibernating 1 and Hibernating 2. There is nothing creative. Just regural photos.

  25. 45

Thank you for the great wallpapers. My favourite is Any Browser, though others are good as well. What about urging designers to create wallpapers for netbooks as well? 1024×600 for instance. That would be great.

  26. 46

Great selection as always. Bummed my calender wasn’t featured but will send one in till it is featured!!

  27. 47

    Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial to create a calendar, with days showing in one line, at the bottom of the image (like, for example, on The Colours of October)?

    Thanks in advance,
    José Castro

  28. 49

Another great collection Smashing. Thanks for the share Vitaly!

  29. 50

Thank you so much for featuring my work at the very tippy top of your page! :)

The other designers were also very creative this month and I can’t pick a favorite!

  30. 51

Why does “Hibernating” scare me a little… (dead body?) Maybe that’s a good thing considering it’s the month of October? A picture of just feet in black and white screams Morge. All you need is a tag on the toe… I hope I don’t offend the designer. Good concept though.

  31. 52

Olivia Bell’s wallpaper is amazing thumbs up for a brilliant design!

  32. 53

    Hi everyone!!!

I really like every wallpaper so I don’t know which one to use in first place!!!

Anyway, I specially loved ‘The words I’ve never said’ and ‘Love in Autumn’.

    Thank you so much!!!

    Best regards,

    Paula – Colombia

  33. 56

Why is there a full-page Scion ad in the background behind the post when I click the back button? It’s kind of obnoxious. Anyway, nice wallpapers.

  34. 57

Only the Pumpkin Spice Spookster wallpaper is available in 1600×900, but that’s not the one I wanted. Oh well.

  35. 58

Nice selection, although I’m curious about the guidelines. I submitted for October and it’s not posted here. Just curious – I spent a lot of time selecting and preparing all the different sizes, etc. I’m not motivated to do all that again…

  36. 59

I like most “Childish” – this is a cool message and:
“The words I’ve never said to you” – I like the photo and the possibility to think about never said words

  37. 60

Hey Smashing Mag, thanks so much for posting my wallpaper! And great work by all the other designers as well.

  38. 61

While all of these come from clearly talented artists, I’m getting kind of tired of the toddler-centric art work. How about something more adult focused. I will often apply these wallpapers to work computers and if half my choices are kiddie art, I’m left searching elsewhere.

  39. 62
  40. 63

All wonderful, as always … but my favorite this month is Violeta Dabija’s Halloween. It’s beautiful and truly “haunting” … with such glowing, jewel-like colors. Lovely and just a little spooky.

  41. 64

I enjoy 10/10 and the sleepy cowgirl!

And thanks for featuring my first contribution, this is really exciting :)

  42. 67

There are a lot of really good ones this month, but Trick or Treat by Jason Knight of nativeBrand is definitely my favourite, so full of colour, scarey and cute all at the same time, Well done Jason.

  43. 68

I hate to burst anyones bubble, but in the “Don’t Forget to Buy Eggs” wallpaper, someone has their days confused. That being said, its a still a fav

Ugghh… I don’t know how I could have made such an obvious mistake. My #fail, sry :/

  44. 70

Wow — what an amazingly talented community. Kudos to each of the designers!

  45. 71

It would be simply great if some of these very talented artists would create fun desktops that contain full-year calendars!

  46. 72

Tough choice. I like Harvest Sunset, but being a Halloween freak I went with Pumpkin Spice Spookster. Thanks! Looks great on my desktop.

  47. 73

My fave is “The Colors of October” :)

  48. 74

The One with M.K.Gandhi is a masterpiece.

  49. 75

Haha… Using the browser one… And I hope every client sees it.

  50. 76

Thanks to SM for showcasing my wallpaper 10/10!

    Congrats to all other designers!

One of my fav piece is “The colours of October”
    by Anna-Lena Lewerenz!

  51. 77

Again my favorite: Kim Carney … thanks

  52. 78

Wow, Nhat Anh, really nice work~! so proud of you ^^~

  53. 79

    Great work.

  54. 80

“Montana Moon” I was looking at the picture waiting for the vampire to appear and bite the poor deers. LOL

    Excellent!

  55. 81

This might be my favorite collection EVER! I was struck immediately by Turning Leaves, and it immediately went straight to my desktop. However, at some point I might have to swap for Childish. I wish Creepy Ice Cream came as a t-shirt. :-) Great job, everybody!

  56. 82

Amazing collection this month :-) It was hard to choose – but I think Happy Halloween is my favourite :-)

  57. 83

Nice collection. Thanks! I went with the pumpkin spice. Lots of nice little details in it.

  58. 84

Beautiful as usual!!! This month I choose the one from MARCO PALMA Italy/Germany!!! Thank you!!!

  59. 86

Olivia Bell’s photos always make me stunned! Totally love her works! :)

  60. 87

They are all very nice, I don’t know which choose, one everyday?, I think I’m gonna go for a Halloween or Dead Night.
    Thanks

  61. 88

although i really liked that “Any Browser” but i’m sure more people would’ve loved it if the message was “Use any browser except Internet Explorer” hahaha

  62. 89

Thank you for including me in this month’s wonderful collection! Thank you, beatrix! I did think of going more “halloween” but decided on a more subtle approach. Ok, it wasn’t that subtle ;) “The Colors of October” is my fave, beautiful simplicity. Thank you again!

  63. 93

I thought there were MANY lovely choices this month, though a bit Hallows/Autumn heavy, even though it does apply to me, and even though Hallowe’en is my fave day of the year! :D I looked at October 2009’s picks yesterday, and noted that it was also Halloween/Autumn heavy last year.

I dl’d to use (mostly w/cals.): Liquify, Colours of Oct, 10/10 (because it is 10/10!), Intensity, Pumpkin Spice Spookster, Smoked (esp the #s, though she seemed a bit too blurry), Harvest Sunset (love sunflowers), Ghostober was cute as were Halloween1, Happy Halloween, TrickOrTreat, Halloween, JackOcalendar. Purple fall is right on-trend (and my fave color), and Childish was nicely done, along with OctoberCalender (3d) , and DeadNight (nice texture!). Even though just listing these names does validate that the collection was Hallows/kid-friendly, many in the online world will be celebrating some sort of autumnal/fall/harvest-y/Hallows time, and there were others that were also very specific to their country.

I also liked Benoit’s, Matteo’s, Rosana’s, Respect the Artist, October Moon, and my nephew will like MonthRocks!

  64. 94

    loving your collection… :)

  65. 95

    loving your collection :)

  66. 96

    3d (welcome) October the best..
    :)

  67. 97

Great work guys..can anyone tell how to create such amazing walls pleaseee .”:) Thanks

Take your time to think about a concept of design that means something to you… then, make it!

  68. 99

    These are great collections ^___^

  69. 100

    Hey guys,,
    very nice designs… awesome collections.

  70. 102

Can any one help me saying, how to submit the design?

I submitting, But my I don’t see my design here :(

    • 103

Hello Jaffer … I can try and help you walk through the process. I have only submitted two so far, so I am no expert.
I have the correct file size set up, design in one size and create other sizes.
The thing to watch out for … you must follow the format of naming convention and submitting process TO THE LETTER. I am sure there are lots of emails, and files submitted and they can’t be responsible for renaming, etc. If you have more questions jump over to my blog and send me an email ;) Keep submitting, if you following procedure … it is great practice, it is good for our egos to get chosen but great preparation for life we are NOT.
      Keep designing! Cheers Kim

  71. 104

    Very Nice Desktop!

    Thanks

  72. 105

thanks you so much :) great job!

  73. 106

Yeaaaahhh! Los felicito, otra vez como en cada mes! Estan muy buenos! Muy bueno sus trabajos, lo hacen muy bien! Saludos desde VENEZUELA!

    @Japa390

  74. 107

Can any one help me, How to submit the design ?

I submitted my design, But i don’t see my design here :(

    • 108

They may not have chosen it, for whatever reason…as Kim noted, you might have messed up the naming convention, or the art wasn’t chosen. You may want to publish it yourself on your blog/site/portfolio, and on art sites like deviantArt.com or behance.net

  75. 109

The Colours of October by Anna-Lena Lewerenz looks awesome , I love it
    great job Anna

  76. 110

I like the fresh breathe and the hibernating wallpaper as well, although the pictures tell completely different stories. On the one hand I like the freshness of cool air and I do like autumn anyway. On the other hand the idea of just staying in bed a little longer than usual while it is still dark outside anyway, is also very tempting.
I like photographs, but very often they are not very useful as a desktop wallpaper. Both pictures are, so it is difficult to decide.
Besides there are some more really cool calendars this month. I also like a dark desktop background. And it is time for Halloween – so like the spooky dead night too and even another one: Gandhi. It is dark, it looks good and it is about a very impressive person. Thanks to all art workers.
By the way: I also like the cowgirl – what is it about these Bell-guys – are you all related to each other? Obviously a very talented family – and the modeling Rosanna makes really beautiful web layouts – check it out!

    • 111

Marc, yes we are related – we are all sisters in fact! :)

      • 112

        Hi Olivia,

So much talent – and obviously you are good as a team as well. Very lucky combination, it’s a gift.

I hope to see much more beautiful graphics, calendars, artwork soon :-)

        Marc

  77. 113

emmmm …the Childdish or the 3D ..but all are greats ! :)

  78. 114

    Nice Creativity….. Saved and Set as desktop wallpaper….Thanks & Love… :)

  79. 116

i usually pick 3-4 design from these wallpaper gallery. i did it, like every month from last 2 years. but i can not find more than 1 design this month. dunno why,..just keep all the great works! :)

  80. 117

Nice collection this month. I like the 3d-October wallpapers probably my favorite this month. Its really simple, but represents October and autumn really well with the different shades of green and the fallen leaves.
I also like the smart-crow wallpaper because of the artistic influence.
    Thanks.

  81. 118

Diffucult choice this month! I went for the “dead night” on my office computer and mayber “trick or treat ” on my personal computer… Or maybe the “Chillin’ Gnomies”… Not decided yet!

  82. 119

Nice collection but doesn’t feel like a Smashing magazine collection. The last month collection was way too better.

  83. 120

Color of October had a beautiful concept. I liked Mahatma Gandhi wallpaper and Dead Night, since I like simpler designs. And, not to mention Bell sisters’ photography: Breath of fresh air, Cowboy girl and Hibernating.

  84. 121

Nice Creativity Saved and Set as desktop wallpaper
    Thanks

  85. 122

We endorse “Mahatma Gandhi” as one of creative wallpaper of the October..

  86. 123

I liked only Martin’s (Latvia) wallpaper, and made it the desktop background on my PC. Frankly speaking, all other wallpapers are not that nice compared to that of the previous months.

Also, surprised for not seeing any Durga Puja (its a 4-day festival, starting from 14 this month) wallpapers. It is one of the most important, widely celebrated Hindu festivals in India, next to Diwali.

  87. 124

Awesome, I particularly like “Any Browser”. Good job by all the designers.

  88. 125

I think most of them are great, but personally as a designer I think wallpapers should consider the icons that most of us have in our desktops. I certainly don’t have too many but when I choose a wallpaper I keep that in mind. Saying that I think the majority of these are very cluttered and work great as simple graphics but not in a context. Anyway I think they look great.

São todos maravilhosos!!!!! My favorite: MONTANA MOON!!!!!!!!

  90. 127

Thank you so much for featuring my submission “Jack O Patch” I did it quickly and got it in kinda late but am so excited it was chosen!

  91. 128

    My favorite is “first leave”

  92. 130

Great collection this month – great job everyone. Currently I’m using “October 2010 Wallpaper” (3rd in the list).

  93. 131

I’m just very pleased that Smashing has this feature every month. Brilliant way to involve the community. Thank you Smashing!

  94. 132

Loving the collection this month! Great job everyone!!! Starting with 10/10. I usually change my wallpaper once a week to keep things a little interesting while I work….I know I will be back very soon to select another…..maybe Colors of October….or Turning Leaf…..who knows!! I LOVE THIS SITE…everyone is so talented! :)

  95. 134

I look forward to these collections every month (That’s why I am here on the 1st)!

This month I love Harvest Sunset, Pumpkin Spice Spookster, and Jack O’ Cal.

Wish there more more Halloween themes.

  96. 135

I really like how the weekend dates are missing from “October Sentense” but I will be going with one with more of a Halloween theme, so it is down to, one of the “Halloween” posters, the “Happy Halloween” poster or “Jack O Cal”

Keep up the great work everyone, I think this is my one year anniversary of getting my monthly calendar from this site! Thanks!

  97. 136

    Great work! Thanks

  98. 137

I love how on Windows 7 I don’t have to stick anymore with just one background image. I just take them all and have them change randomly at specified intervals.

That said, could you package the different resolutions into just one file, for next time?
    That would be awesome.

  99. 138

    Looooove the gnomes!!!

  100. 139

    Awesome collection

  101. 140

Very nice work this month. thanks SM :)
I like most the second one(Latest Browsers)

  102. 141

Symbian World, 10/10, and Eerie October are my faves. :0

I liked Liquifly the most. Thanks for posting.

  104. 145

These are all great! I picked Pumpkin Spice. It was just what I had in mind!! Thanks so much!

  105. 146

“Don’t forget to buy eggs” calendar wallpaper has Saturday and Sunday mixed up =P

    • 147

Yep! Seems to me the SM team doesn’t even check the postings and just let the computer decide to fill the Wallpaper Calendar theme at random. The Bells must be excluded from random fill. I assume they are Smashing Magazine stockholders!

It’s my fault :/ They probably foresaw it until it was published, like me :/ Sorry again.

  106. 149

10/10 is my favorite in this collection. As usual, quite a few mediocre ones included, but oh well! Alien Invaders is another fun one. I do like most of the Olivia Bell and Sasha Bell wallpapers we’ve been seeing quite a few of over the last couple months, but I’m not so sure about the Hibernation. Others are good, though!

  107. 152

What about some spring imagery for those in the southern hemisphere?

  108. 153

Great collection :) My favorites are
    1. purple fall 2. This month rocks
Great work by all the designers…

  109. 154

    • 155

Aww thank you I’m so glad you like “Love In Autumn” and “Sleeping Cowgirl” :)

  110. 156

This month I chose: Liquifly, The words I’ve never said to you, The Colours of October, 10/10, Sleeping Cowgirl, Pumpkin Spice Spookster, Purple Fall, Marissa & Liloo, and 3D

    GREAT WORK THIS MONTH! :)

  111. 158

This one is for Manish Jinwal who Copied the image of Mahatma Gandhi to gain the attention and admire from viewers…
You can see the actual image in below link
    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5255256&fbid=434640942581&id=141193332581&ref=nf

Guys its good to take inspiration….but copying someone’s designed images and using in your designs is something i don’t admire and hope you all agree with me……..

    • 159

@Deepak : Well I agree with your point of using the image of Gandhi in wallpaper but making it look so beautiful is creativity, you can compare it with link you have provided.

Creativity is not just about creating everything from scratch, it’s about how you can make things look beautiful, how you can make something look better than original.

I support Manish for Making & Sharing it to us, It looks great on my desktop.

    • 160

I agree with you. Not a fan of people who take another’s work to make their own. Unless they got permission of course.

  112. 161

    Really awesome wallpapers, thanks!

  113. 162

My favourite one is “The Colours of October”.

  114. 163

One of the best monthly collection of the last month! This one is really good thanks to all great designers who participated!

  115. 164

No second though in the creativity but I wish they understand the fact that in most of the wallpapers the calender hides under the taskbar. I wish……..

  116. 165

    outstanding and heart touching.
    keep it up!

  117. 166

    Nice collection. Thanks!

  118. 167

    My favorite: Childish =)

  119. 168

It’s really unfortunate that most wallpapers listed here are not of 1920×1080 resolution. have to save, edit to scale and then set.

  120. 169

Jack O Cal! There were many cool pages to choose from but this one was my favorite–thanks!

  121. 170

i’m going to make “childish” by Nishith as my desktop background.. nice job! :)

  122. 171

I like the Colours of October wallpaper! Will give my monitor the refresh it needs! Thanks for the share!

  123. 173

jack o cal and jump into fall my fav’s

  124. 174

I love the browser wallpaper :D

  125. 175

I started to make a listing of my favs, but it grew so long I realized there was something about each entry I could claim is unique, fascinating, etc. I selected one as outstanding to me, however. The more I look at Jack O Cal by Lindsey Kellis, the more I know it will be difficult to wait for the next entry from this designer. The way this designer incorporated ghosts into clouds with the crescent moon showing through the ghosts is just astonishingly wonderful. The whole month for real I will be looking out at the moon and yep see those ghosts. And the stars… just mere stars or what? The contrast/coloring/shading of the Jack O Cal is dead on. Placement of the year 2010 and the 31st day are outstandingly done. The curlicue topping is another treat. This designer has lots of treats and tricks for me to savor and I can’t wait until next year’s Jack O Cal. The only thing I missed seeing are spiders and night-owls, but maybe those stars…

  126. 176
  127. 177

Oh wow! I love all of them! my favourites are Harvest Sunset and Under the Sea!

  128. 178

Oh s***! All of them are pretty good!

  129. 179

    10/10 is my favourite!

  130. 181

10/10 – I am a “huge” fan of these wallpaper posts. I enjoyed many of these, but my favorite is “Any Browser”.

    Thanks!

Sick and tired of people who complain about FREE stuff

    October 3, 2010 5:25 pm

October: why are there so many Halloween wallpapers?
November: why are there so many Thanksgiving wallpapers?
December: why are there so many Christmas wallpapers?
April: why are there so many Easter wallpapers?

If you don’t like Christian/Pagan/Western holiday-themed wallpapers, THEN CREATE YOUR OWN FREE WALLPAPER WEBPAGE. If there happens to be many halloween-themed wallpapers this month, its because many of SMASHING MAG’s CONTRIBUTORS enjoy this WESTERN holiday.

SMASHING MAG is a WESTERN publication, visited by many people WHO HAPPEN TO HAVE WESTERN RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND CULTURE.

If you want more Asian/Aetheist -centric wallpapers, then by all means CREATE YOUR OWN FREE WALLPAPER WEBPAGE!!!

Gaah, gaah, gaah…. these kids…. every effin’ year… gah, gah….

Sick and tired of people who complain about FREE stuff

    October 3, 2010 5:30 pm

by the way, I’M Asian, and you don’t see me complain…

  133. 185

I downloaded the spaceship one and I created circles around each of the dates and saved them 1 by 1 so I have 31 :D and Set my background to change daily. Works like a charm.

  134. 186

Perfect color choices on “Pumpkin Spice Spookster”, great contrast of detail and simplicity on “Harvest Sunset”, “Montana Moon” and “3d October Calendar”.

  135. 187

@ Nicole: U rock!! Superb piece of imagination!!! Simply Awesome…

  136. 188

    3d October Calendar

  137. 189

    Really nice collection.

However, I have a problem here. I have subscribed to SMagazine but I didn’t receive only this particular post by RSS. Can anyone tell me why?

  138. 190

As every month The wallpapers are So nice thanx U so Much from Mexico guys

  139. 191

I’m using ‘First leave’ right now; while the others are nice, they either don’t come in the resolution that I’d like, or they have ‘Autumn’ or ‘Halloween’ themes…concepts that are understood but not experienced where I am…First leave still has some green grass, at least!

    Great work, everyone.

    • 192

:)) Thanks Marie Elise! So nice to know a version of First Leave come in your resolution. Hope you a happy October.

  140. 193

hello nice blog and its very interesting, and help ful to others to…

The information given above is very nice which is use to be a graphic designer. It is very difficult task to be performed for. Thanks for your great stuffs of information provided for us in this article. I would like to appreciate your work.

  141. 194

Thanks for all the compliments on my 1st calender “Jack O Cal”. Especially roaring50s. too flattering! Rest assured I will from now on design keeping the task bar in mind! The logos are not placed well at all. I am going to fix that as well as a few other things that bother me that I did in a rush so keep an eye out on my website for updated versions.

  142. 196

My favorite is Mahatma Gandhi. Great work Manish!

  143. 199

“Montana Moon” is my favorite for this month!

  144. 200

    My favorite: Childish :)

  145. 201

    Any Browser is awesome!

Can we have it in black too??

  146. 203

These just keep getting better each month. Well done to all the contributors!

  147. 204

Time doesn’t allow for complimenting what I see as creative about each and every design. I wonder if the site can place a comment feature under each one in addition to this comment section. That way we could post right to the design, it would be easier.

  148. 205

How annoying that my favourite was last on the list – that was a lot of scrolling! Loving the Space Invaders!

  149. 206

    i like hallowe’en & 3d october :)
    thanks!!

  150. 207

I love the Jack O Cal. Thank You!

  151. 208

  154. 211

thanks alot again. These are great!

  155. 212

    Great work everybody.

After Marissa & Liloo backgrounds, the rest isn’t availabe for download in higher resolutions ? I only see the preview.

  156. 213

    So beautiful!

  157. 214

I just wish more people would do 16:9 ratio wallpapers… :-( Otherwise, awesome job to everyone involved! I love the monthly wallpapers.

  158. 215

These are absolutely gorgeous. I’m definitely excited to create my own series of desktop calendars. Thanks for the inspiration!

  159. 216

half of them have no download links !!!

  160. 217

I like the Pumpkin Spice Spookster! :-)
    great work!

  161. 218

    Brilliant Post!

But, is there anything to support the claim that it will increase motivation? either way I’m going to give it a go!

  162. 219

The design of these desktop wallpapers is socool! The smashing team’s work is so great! I like these.

  163. 220

    “Jack O Cal” is wonderful!

  164. 221

There are so many great wallpapers here, but I’m especially torn between Pumpkin Spice Spookster and Purple Fall.

  165. 222

Dear frndz there has been 3 dates missing in the very 1st calendar that is LIQUIFLY,
    the dates 12th 19th & 26th of oct 2010 thats a Tuesday which are missing….

  166. 223

I like “The words I’ve never said to you”, “The Colours of October”, “Turning Leaves”, “10/10″, “Jamp into Fall”, “Childish”, “Above The Clouds”, “This Month Rocks”, “First leave”
    I can’t choose a favorite :)

  167. 224

I like the on with a big 10/10 in the middle. My oldest daughter’s birthday is 10/10/10, so this is a very special year!

  168. 226

Why does it always seem that my favorite ones do not come in 1680×1050? This resolution always seems to be neglected.
My previous Dell that I had for 4 years was 1680×1050 and so is my current Mac Book Pro.

  169. 227

I love this kind of wallpapers, but its a shame that most all of them are dated wrong for some reason. For example as I write this it is the 8 of Oct. 2010 and it is Friday, on the dates listed on most of the calenders it says its the 9th. Am I the only one who has caught this.
It may be because this Oct. 2010 has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays in the same month, something that will not happen again for another 823 years years.

  170. 228

great collection, i like The Colours of October

  171. 229

I’d like to think that “Jump into Fall” (Designed by Kristin G Jackson from USA) is my husband and I during my up and coming fall break from classes!! :) nice work! :)

  172. 230

There are so many I love I can’t narrow it down to just one. Maybe I’ll have to have a different one every few days!

  173. 231

I design. How can I participate in teh calendar of the month?

    I really love it

  174. 232

    cool stuff……

  175. 233

I love the autumn scene with the gnomes! :)

  176. 234

I look forward to these every month! My favorites this round are Childish and Jack O Cal. Great job as always; they’re gorgeous pieces of eye candy.

  177. 235

I just went through the images and all are just amazing and mind blowing. I just like a lot through the things and also the way all the calender images are in the different way.

  178. 236

  194. 253

Backgrounds can serve as a source of great inspiration, beautiful and elegant they are, the best he can offer some fresh perspective and creative workflow rather boring, I am sure Most designers have a background image will change addicts. Designers can never be sufficient for the collection of backgrounds, wallpapers, however, change is often to feel fresh and thought, here I have collected 50 wallpapers really wonderful, I hope you enjoy this collection
