Desktop Wallpaper Calendar: December 2010

Desktop wallpapers can serve as an excellent source of inspiration. However, if you use a specific wallpaper for a longer period of time, it becomes harder to draw inspiration out of it. That’s why we have decided to supply you with smashing wallpapers for over 12 months. To make them a little more distinctive than the usual crowd, we’ve decided to embed calendars for the upcoming month. So if you happen to be searching for a specific day of the month, isn’t it better to show off a nice wallpaper with a nice calendar instead of launching some default time application?

This post features 40 free desktop wallpapers, created by designers across the globe for December 2010. Both versions with a calendar and without a calendar can be downloaded for free.

Please notice:

  • all images can be clicked on and lead to the preview of the wallpaper;
  • you can feature your work in our magazine1 by taking part in our desktop wallpaper calendar series. We are regularly looking for creative designers and artists to be featured on Smashing Magazine. Are you one of them?

So what wallpapers have we received for December 2010?

Update: you may be interested in Smashing Magazine January 2011 Windows 7 Theme (calendar)2 and Smashing Magazine January 2011 Windows 7 Theme (no calendar)3.

  1. 1

I love it, that more and more designers also offer sizes optimized for 27″ monitors. Keep it up!

  2. 2

I really liked the clever use of the matches to imply the 12 days of Christmas.

  3. 4

    Christmas Eve is well-balanced.

  4. 5

    Good stuff!

  5. 6

That Cosy Socks wallpaper was allready there last month, only it was called Favourite Pair.

    • 7

You are right, thanks for the feedback! The wallpaper was removed.

…removed and then added again (the photo was turned in an illustration), see the updated post above.

      • 8

Yeah what is it with Sasha Bell and socks??

      • 10

Hi Vitaly i have check every month this wallpaper before last two month the quality of wallpaper i min the art of wall pepper is missing in last two month so whats the meter please reply

      • 11

Your calendar issue starts to be the personal showcase of the Bell sisters. This is totally unprofessional from smashing magazine.

        • 12

If we submitted under different names, what would the difference be?

We may have the same surname, but we’re our own people. Smashing Mag haven’t said who can or cannot submit. Although we’re sisters, I don’t feel that means we shouldn’t be able to submit a wallpaper just because one sister has…

If that were the case, there wouldn’t be much love between us – I’m surprised anyone thinks there is any difference between 3 random people submitting and 3 sisters.

If you note, the calendars each of us submitted are different… it isn’t like we all submitted a red apple ;)

          • 13

I personally don’t understand why the Bell sisters have to face so much persecution every single month. I’m pretty sure this must constitute as some sort of bullying.

If you don’t like the fact that their designs get in every month, enter your own; SM only accept a limited amount. The more designs they get, the more chance you get your wish (and for what reason I’ll never know) of the Bell sisters not being featured.

Come on guys; be good sports.

          • 14

But it’s not about the fact that your sisters, it’s about the fact that your work as individuals always get submitted no matter what, well at least you and Sasha’s work, I’d better not include Rosanna in this since she seems to be new to Smashing Magazine.

          • 15

            Between you three you had:

            3 calendars in this issue,
            4 in the November issue,
            3 in October,
            4 in September,
            and 3 in August.

            Well I think that’s a lot.

          • 16

Definitely too much Bells! Where’s the diversity?

          • 17

I think the criticism is unavoidable (unfortunately), because You are not only sharing the name but also taste in design…
BUT i like Your photography and maybe for some people it’s nice to get similar design every month. I’m cool with that. I think if SM can pick more designs from others than I don’t care how many picks Bell sisters get… as far as i can choose something nice :)

          • 18

I can’t believe how catty all of these people are being just because two people happen to be related and submit their artwork. Maybe their artwork gets “submitted no matter what” because they’re talented? Besides, what is the big deal? Can’t you all just enjoy the FREE goodies Smashing has to offer without turning in to a bunch of sniveling babies?

      • 19

I am currently clarifying the copyright issues with Sasha Bell. It is very important for us to respect designer’s rights. We’ll certainly keep that in mind for the next month.

        • 20

The Bell sisters get featured every month because they are amazing artists. Smashing Magazine is a reputable site and is allowed to choose whom they want featured. I doubt they look at all the Bell girl’s work and try to pick at least three.Olivia, Rosanna and Sasha’s work is hardly similiar other than the last names of the artists. Let the girls to continue to create and wow us every month.

Olivia, Rosanna and Sasha am a huge fan and look forward to your new creations every month! Keep up the amazing work!

          • 21

I feel like this is very immature and “unprofessional” … of all the people complaining. I don’t believe desktop wallpapers should be something to whine about. Maybe if you were PAYING for a Smashing Magazine subscription or something, but you’re not. Be thankful for what both SM and the Bell Sisters are doing. Stop being babies please.

I agree with Jonathan full heartedly.

  6. 22

I like this very idea of changing wallpapers every month and the smashing magazine gives the ammo for this creative weapon to us for free. Thanks for this, thanks to the artists for doing such impressive work and have a very happy christmas time out there.

  7. 23

Thank you very much for keeping this going. Many are great — including Christine Bradway’s December Dream.

  17. 34

Nice wallpapers. My favourites: Cosy Retro and Frosted Glass.

  18. 35

Sssss… feel cold with cold wallpaper! I wish to get warm wallpapers :(

  19. 36

All of them are wonderful! But I liked ‘Christmas Eve’ a lot!

Thank you designers and Smashing Team!

PS: Again, I miss’s wallpaper. Maybe it will be available tomorrow in their website!

    • 37

I have very busy time last 3 months, so I haven’t enough time to made it and send here. Really sorry. But I’m working on it now, so it should be tomorrow at

      • 38

Hi! I really like the results of your work! I know it’s not easy, I can’t even imagine how complex it is, but I was used to have a new wallpaper everyday, and a special one every month, so I miss it!

        Thank you!

PS: By the way, wouldn’t you like to have a volunteer? I know nothing about it (I study Business Administration) but I enjoy it so much that I’m willing to learn! ;D

  20. 39

Thanks you so much! i love all! :X :X :X

  21. 40

    Thanks for this!! =)

  22. 41

I love these but I wish there were more “Christmasy” options.

  23. 42

Really wish I had made one for this month. These all look fantastic. ‘Cosy Retro’ and ‘Fun in the Snow’ are my favs.

  24. 43

oi, wish some designers remembered half the globe has a summer Christmas/December and did something for us! :(

  25. 45

My favourites are Fun in the Snow, Frosted Glass, Cosy Retro,New Santa … New Gifts and Snowy Love!
    Nice collection!

  26. 46

@Vitaly Friedman could you look into a calendar i submitted? It was titled The Sighting. Thanks.

  27. 47

    Francesco Di Vincenzo

    November 30, 2010 8:03 am

    I prefer the Christmas Stuff.

  28. 48

Alright! They’re finally out. New desktop background again that suits to Yuletide season. Thanks SmashingMagazine guys! You rock!

  29. 49

Cosy Retro and Burnout 2010. Thanks :)

  30. 50

I loved the khaos from Costa Rica, nice work!

  31. 51

My favorite is Khaos from Jose Tenorio ^_^

  32. 52

I really like how talented the artists are on here. I love December Dream and really want to use it, but it’s not coming up for me when I click on it. The other wallpapers are coming up just fine.

  33. 53

Why some wallpapers do not have 1280×1024?

  34. 54

Whoa! My first submission! It was fun – now to step up my game! Thanks for letting me play Smashing!

  35. 55

I’m from south america….and i’m always around this magazine….the articles are excellent…..but when it comes to monthly wallpaper collections………I don’t know…..I think more designers from south should submit wallpapers….there’s a lot of wallpapers about winter….but none about summer (we are in summer here…remember?)….

    Thx anyway….
    and sorry about my english…

    • 56

My thoughts too! Our Christmas time is all about BBQs, beaches and sunbathing. I thought more people would have submitted from the south, or maybe they just don’t get accepted.

  36. 57

Fun in the Snow is fun.
    Inspiring Well is nice.

..and again with the Bells? Oi! It’s like that movie Groundhog’s Day only without the humor and sweet ending. Especially so because the one with the socks is merely a repeat from last month. I know – it’s been “illustrated”… now they’re ripping their OWN work off…

    • 58

Could this be explained. Is the photography or illustration not the work of the calendar author/s? Have I been commending many of these artists for just using someone else’s freeware/artistry and designing a calendar on it. Hell, I could do that with the right software. If the photograph/illustration is the calendar creator’s, however, I sometimes think it or something similar could be used over and over again for different months.

I think the issue needs clarified. I really won’t participate if the artistry is not original to the calendar creator. I’ll make my own from what I find on the net.

    • 59

That post is ridiculously libellous, and could actually pose a counter lawsuit for the girls.

You cannot wrap all three of the Bell sisters in one package; the mistake of one of them does not constitute for the defamation of the other two. Sasha is ONE person, not “The Bell Sisters”.

I recommend you change that post as the title is untrue and defamatory.

      • 60

That post is nothing to do with me, I just feel for the artist(s) whose work is being used without permission or credit to generate publicity and profit for others. It’s nothing personal, and the Bell sisters are clearly talented – I really like a lot of their photography – this issue just rubs me up the wrong way :-/ Anyway, I’m going to let the matter drop now, sorry if I was too harsh.

        • 61

I appreciate the issue is contentious, I really do. As someone who deals with the Internet all the time, it’s not just visuals that people use without permission; code gets stolen frequently, but when others start dragging names through the snow (I thought it appropriate given the current weather conditions ;] – Just lightening the mood) it just gets awfully messy…

I think it’s also important to note that all “offending” artworks (if you want to call them that, I call them a mistake at best…) have been removed from all of the sites the bell sisters own, they are not selling them any further… All works henceforth are absolute works from the artists’ minds… I appreciate it’s SM’s responsibility to make sure that all work is the Copyright holders’.

When one continues to perpetuate an issue which has been settled, it harms all parties involved, not just those being accused.

Glad to see that it struck some chords, though, and I’m glad for your apology – I’m sure Sasha will be much more pleased to hear it than I.

          Thanks for your response.

  37. 62

Awsome job again guys, i look forward to this each month, if only people would submit more from Autralia, there is nothing like Xmas in the bush. I’ll have to put something togeather for Jan

  38. 63

    nice wallpapers) tnx

  39. 64

Yum – on time this month! It has been difficult to decide for a favorite… I might swap it over half way through the month for some variety.

I first went for Khaos, but couldn’t find a version which was legible on my widescreen monitor, so I settled for “Inspiring Wall” by Peter Lee!

I also like “Frozen”, except that the calendar would be completely covered by my desktop icons, and “Burnout 2010″ – which will be my next choice for the second half of December… [I'm getting tired of the "Bell" family.]

    • 65

Yeah, one of the reasons I really dislike the way they continue to publish the Bell’s work is because they involve the same models half the time. I wouldn’t mind so much if it was a bit more varied!

  40. 66

wow… This series is the best of all! Love all of them!
And as usual, the Bells` wallpapers filling up my desktop for another month!
    Keep it up guys! ^_^

  41. 67

“New Santa – new gifts” will decorate my screen for the next month (or so). :-)

    Regards from Denmark

  42. 68

Love-able, likable and enjoyable as always for last 11 months. Bit chilly yet festive and charming. Thumbs up to burn-out to show feel of 12th month. Time evaporates leaving memories behind. So wonderful.

Wish there would be some flashy Christmas lights with bright smiles filled wallpapers or some feel good warm milk – cookie kind sweeter feels occupied wallpapers , for this grand finale of the months.

Thanks a ton SmashingMagazine for these adorable wallpapers and all other great goodies. :)

See you in 2011 with January wallpapers…till then chill out. :)

My first calendar wallpaper in Smashing Magazine.
    Thank you!

  44. 70

These calendars showed up with Bells on!

(see what I did there? No! Its not a bad joke because it works two different ways! Because its Christmas and because these same sisters keep…. nevermind…)

Loved Christmas Past and Burnout 2010

  45. 74

A lot of fine artistic works this month, but “Frosted Glass” is the only one I find fitting for a desktop. It has the overall simplicity that keeps it from being a distraction in a functional environment, with enough detail to make it interesting.

  46. 75

    nice collection!

    peace on earth!

  47. 77

A great selection like every months. Best this time:

    Waiting for a Winter
    Smashing Snowman

I actually shot “Snowy Love” in my chilly backyard with the primary goal of using it as a desktop background; glad it works for others too!

I look forward to submitting next month :)

Woohooo! Smashing, you cheer me up every month with your wallpapers (and your superb other content too!). Keep up the good work!

  66. 101

Smashing Snowman is the best! It looks just great on my desktop! :)

  67. 103

What’s with the Bell sisters? Are you going to put their stuff month after month after month?

Also do you realise that most of these wallpapers cannot actually be used as calendars? Nearly all of them have the calendar part written too small or placed behind icons.

I don’t know how you select these wallpapers but I found your standards dropping over the course of 2010.

  68. 104

some nice designs, Ive taken Snowy Love just for the simplicity of it, cheers

  69. 105

“Burnout 2010”cannot be downloaded, someone knows why?

  70. 106

“Burnout” is brilliant and I’m sad it’s not available in 1280×800.

  73. 109

I was thinking about the Calenders yesterday… and … today they are online… well some of them are great, and some of them not so much, but anyway it is the last month of the year and great Holidays are coming..

    and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

khaos and frosted glass this month.
khaos is my number one this year,

  75. 111

Beautiful wallpapers. I think you should cover summer too since that’s the season in the southern hemisphere.

@Vitaly: Would blue/green illustrations out of Sasha Bell’s socks calender be regarded as legitimate work?

  76. 112

December Dream is very pretty BUT it doesn’t open properly so I can’t set it as a desktop background. I wonder what the problem is?

Anyhow, I always use your desktop backgrounds. Great and creative initiative!

  77. 113

Love changing calendars on my desktop. It’s also handy and helpful in planning. Would be better to put the calendar on the right hand side.

    Nice job, keep up guys!

A MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!

  78. 114

Thank you very much for posting my Snow White calendar, Smashing Magazine. It is quite an honour to be included in such a talented selection of wallpapers.

I hope you at Smashing Mag and everyone else have a cracking December, Christmas and New Year! :)

  79. 115

Thank you so much for featuring my wallpaper “Cosy Socks”
I’m so happy you decided to include it in your December wallpaper post!

Have a lovely Christmas and a great New Year! <3

    • 116

Well I like the Bell sister’s artful eye for capturing a moment.

I also *shamefully* like foot illustrations/art (socks not so much). Hope that doesn’t make me out to be a perv. :/

  80. 117

    Very nice collection!

    Marry Christmas Everyone!

  81. 118

Wicklow Winter for me – it’s gorgeous!

  82. 119

I like “Winter Atmosphere” the most! Good work Jaro.

  83. 121

    beautiful, especially Frosted Glass

  84. 122

Lots of nice entries – went with Snowy Love.

  85. 123

Love them all specially Christmas icons and burnout,my wallpaper is gonna wear one of them this month.

  86. 124

these are all amazing! i really enjoyed “fun in the snow” and “christmas old style”.

  87. 125

No wallpaper from Sentense this month? :(

  88. 126

I really love a lot of these wallpapers for the design, but always find myself wishing that the artists would use more traditional calendar setups. If the calendar isn’t functional, it’s just pretty wallpaper.

  89. 127

Great set, but the Festivus wallpaper has two 31′s… is there a Seinfeld joke there I’m missing?

  90. 128

My favorite theme is ‘Peace’, fresh and grown-up

  91. 129

I want put wallpaper on my lounge wall but none of these enough big , i print and it only size of page, i need one is 4 meters x 3 meters for wall behind TV, and enother which 5 meters x 3 meters for wall by front door next to fridgerator.

Please fax me the large size one. I like the one of girl in the sock and the one of postman look at the mail.

  92. 132

Guys, you make a great job!

  93. 133

Vos calendriers : December dream et Winter wonderland, sont absent.

I can’t have your calendars : December Dream , and, Winter wonderland
    the link is inexistant… ty

Good Job to you , I Like come at each month to see and take some :)

  94. 134

I really love December Dream but I get the red x box when I choose the screen resolution that I want.

  95. 135

honestly can’t decide between Holly Light and Snowy Love, they’re both beautiful. love the photography.

  96. 136

I love Snowy December! Beautiful composition, Rosanna Bell :)

  97. 138

i love these!! my favourites have to be the ones that depict a sunny snowy winters day in some far away place – i love that.

  98. 139

On my desktop? The simple and clean “Snowy Love”

  99. 140

Change of plans.. “Snowy Love” looks nice, but “Wicklow Winter” has more texture/better for every day use.

  100. 141

The Frosted Glass by Shawn Rinkenbaugh153 from United States is the most innovative conceptually. I await further like steamed glass, rainfall glass, endless glass… every month the concept could be done with different view themes…

  101. 142

    December Dream doesn’t work. =(

It’s been a great year of wallpapers though, thank you smashing magazine, and thank you artists!!!

  102. 143

Thanks for sharing the free wallpapers.

  103. 144

very nice my favorite…. Waiting for a Winter and forzen ;D

  104. 145

Thank you, to all the artist for sharing inspiring artistic creations.

They’re all very nice, my favorite is ‘Holly Light’ – love that warm and cozy feel!

  105. 146

    Smashing Snowman! Very unique Idea!

  106. 148

my favorite wallpaper is Happy New Year. Congrats for your fantastic job.
    best wishes from Tijuana, Mexico.

  107. 149

I’m sorry to say but I’ve just about had my fill of the Bell sisters’ stuff.. yawn. Nothing personal, they’re just so samey, and the fact that the designers themselves are unethical isn’t helping.

  108. 150

    Woow… Bell sisters are lovely,,,

  109. 151

waiting for a winter is my favourite, and my new calendar for december :)

  110. 152

December Dream on my desktop makes me happy :)

  111. 153

Hi, Thk’s for your comments & Thk’s SM for selecting my calendar! Nice work everybody! Best wishes from Costa Rica!

  112. 154

    thanks :)

My favorite is Winter Wonderland! :)

  114. 156

Thank you so much Smashing for posting my design. I was very excited to see it. Thanks to everyone who commented on it and are using it as their background. You are all very awesome!

  115. 157

“Fun in the Snow” is sooooo adorable~!
Makes me smile everyday at work! :-)

  116. 158

    I like December Dream !
    Nice wallpaper, thank you !

  117. 159

I love all of them! Is there a Smashing Mag full Calendar? (for print)

  118. 160

too confused to choose the best!
I think the bell sisters’ designs are great
although I wish they wouldn’t be photographs all the time
perhaps a graphic design next time ? thanks :D

  119. 161

I just downloaded the Russian Santa.. The design looks cool and I love blue. I’m pretty sure my lil daughter would love it too.. I also like the Fun in The Snow cos it simply reminds me of “Happiness” in December… Happy holidays everyone…

  120. 162

I’m disappointed of this collection :(
I expected beautiful Christmas wallpapers ?!
Please create a special Christmas collection :)

  121. 163

    Very nice wallpapers this month!

    Very nice collection!!!

  123. 165

Good luck to the Bells. They are working hard. Lack of diversity is in the eye of the beholder. All the calendars have a northern European or American feel. Here in Australia, it is summer….we are not thinking blue and silver, frost on windows and the like. Cold weather is optional!. Will we see one from China when Spring Festival comes around? All the submissions are in good faith. Each month I seem to find one that I like enough to put on my desktop.
So… my thanks to all who submit one or more.

  124. 166

There are so many good designs…

    don’t know what to chose..

    found also another good one

  125. 167

Awesome desktops. Which one to choose?

  126. 168

    Fresh & White (1024 x 768) only showing 27 days!

  127. 169

Why can’t a send the image to my desktop? I usually just select my size with calendar and when the new screen with the image pops up, I right click and send to desktop, or set as background, but now when I click on any of the sizes or the preview it takes me to the image but I can’t right click, I get a zoom in or out option only. Any help?

  128. 170

I’m dissappointed this month. I was expecting more ‘Christmas’ themed wallpapers.

  129. 171

I love December Dream, but the image links won’t pull up the photo for me…

  130. 172

Can someone fix “DECEMBER DREAM?” I absolutely love it and want it without the calendar. None of the links are working for it. Just an “x” pops up. I tried the preview link and it works, but it’s just too grainy on my desktop. Thanks and happy holiday!

  131. 173

Great Wallpapers…but I can’t get December Dreams to open on my computer. Is anyone else having that problem? It’s a beautiful picture and I’d really love to use it for the month. Thanks!

  132. 174

    I like:
Spider web – really nic photo (maybe not for this month…but still)
Cosy Retro – good retro never dies :)
    Burnout 2010 – excellent idea!
West Christmas – made me laugh :D
…aaand my final pick is Wiclow Winter… the magic of the mountains…

  133. 175

I love Flower Bokeh, Sad Waters and Winter Wicklow but my favourite is Casual Catwalk! So well done Nathalie, I love what you did with the shadows! And well done to everyone else who I’ve mentioned here!

  134. 176

Can you fix the December Dream wallpaper. I love it but not having the size for my screen makes it all grainy.

P.s. I love the artists series with the trees, I’d like to replace her November tree with her December tree.

I designed December Dream. I’m very glad you like it! I emailed SM to ask about the problems that everyone seems to be having when they try to open up the wallpaper. The wallpapers open just fine for me (I use the Safari browser on my Mac). I’m not sure what the problem is, and SM said it worked fine for them as well. They wonder if it’s the browsers and versions that people are using.

  135. 178

    good job

  136. 179

i love the work of Nathalie Ouederni …such a creative idea

  137. 180

I like December Dream and Happy Festivus the best, because they aren’t as ‘snowy’ as most of them (I don’t live in a region where it snows) and the calendars are in a region that I won’t have my icons. And I can read the calendars quickly! When the numbers are in a straight line, they look awesome, but my slow brain can’t pick up which number is next week Wednesday.

But keep up the great (and free!) work!

  138. 181

Thanks a lot to all designers that gave those wallpapers to us !
My favorite one is Starleaves !

  139. 182

    Victoria Falcigno

    December 3, 2010 12:05 pm

Love Festivus even with the mistake. Gotta be a Seinfeld fan to really understand!….I so look forward to the beginning of every month and never fail to find something terrific…..Thank you Smashing and all the contributors for sharing so selflessly.

  140. 183

    Nice collection!!
    My favourite is Burnout 2010.

  141. 184

    1. Casual Catwalk
    2. Learn To Recycle

  142. 185

    Please fix December Dream!

  143. 186

    Thanks a lot!

  144. 187

I really enjoyed this months post of wallpapers. Downloaded a couple already. But I am really shocked at the comments. @superbuddha @jenny @stephen seriously you people which planet are you from. If three talented sisters who are amazing and unique share their work…. how the hell is it your problem! People if you say SM is branding them or so….. reality check they just keep the show on by their amazing work. If you guys feel that 3 sisters are over powering the whole SM post I think you better find another link to get wallpapers. These sisters are talented and deserve the space they get on the post. BTW 3 wallpapers in comparison to the whole post doesn’t make it a Bell post! And I hope SM does come out someday with a Bell sister wallpaper post. @buddha your statistic speak for itself. You just gave everyone a glimpse of how talented these girls are. At last all I want to say is @oliviabell @sashabell you are amazing in your own way. Keep it coming.

    • 188

You realise that there was a minimum of 3 calendars by the bell sisters OVER THE LAST FIVE MONTH EVERY MONTH IN EVERY ISSUE, and their work is always so similar that the guys from SM posted this month the same sock calendar than last month.

    • 189

Jonathan, have they payed you to say this?
I’m sorry but I fail to see what makes them so much better than the rest, I’m not trying to say that they have no talent but there’s nothing which really distinguishes them from the rest.

  145. 190

    Christmas past is my fave.

  146. 191

Starleaves — gorgeous! I also liked Khaos.

  147. 192

Would have really liked Burnout 2010 in 1280 x 800, it is a standard size for all macbook 13’3 inch. It’s my fav but doesn’t come in my size :-(

  148. 193

so much bell talk. I never even noticed, probably because I don’t use the photography calendars. Maybe they just have more things up because it’s easier to slap a calendar from 1 of the many photos they have taken. what takes longer? an illustration or photo processing.

  149. 194

Awesome work. Marry Christmas to you guys.. keep the good work going! :)

    That’s really cool!

  151. 196

I am very happy that there is a good selection for all of us who DON’T celebrate christmas. I really liked Inspiring Well, Burnout, and Khaos :) Well done, guys :D

  152. 197

Thank you for another set of really cute and beauty wallpapers! Great work, folks!

  153. 198

Starleaves is by far my favorite and looks beautiful on my desktop! Thanks so much and I look forward to more from Fabio Toscani. Thank you SM. Happy Holidays to all!

  154. 199

My favorites this month are Starleaves, Fun in the Snow and New Santa… New Gifts. FYI – I also liked December Dream but I had a problem opening the preview to download it. I tried two different sizes and both of them just came up with error messages. Thank you to everyone who submits their work. The wallpapers here are by far the most interesting I have seen on the web!

  155. 200

Thank you Smashing Magazine! For including me in this wonderful collection of Holiday Cheer. Love Burnout! Happy Holidays to everyone!

  156. 201

The Greatest Gift Of All wallpaper is wonderfull

  157. 202

Nice collection, I would like to submit my artwork sometime, may be next month.

  158. 203

    Smashing Magazine,
Thank you so much for including me in this month’s collection!!

    Everyone else,
I designed December Dream, and I understand that many of you are having trouble trying to open up the wallpaper. I emailed SM to ask about the problems that everyone seems to be having. The wallpapers open just fine for me (I use the Safari browser on my Mac). I’m not sure what the problem is, and SM said it worked fine for them as well. They wonder if it’s the browsers and versions that people are using.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience and hope I find out why the wallpaper isn’t opening. If anyone is interested, then I can email you the wallpaper!

  161. 206

Yayy I always look forward to this post every month :D

  162. 207

    Snow White…beautiful

  163. 208

I liked the design of Anca Varsandan from Romania. Its creative, trendy and goes well with the season.

  164. 209

Its all nice Calendar but my bd luck i hv only 1 Desktop.
I really thank full of all the Designers.

  165. 210

WOW! such a good selection of great design this month, disproportionate to usual.. so hard to pick! spider web, christmas past, flower bokeh, khaos are my faves

  166. 211

It’s awesome to save all of them (ones you like) and have Windows 7 rotate them. Yaay.

  167. 212

for me definitely “Christmas Stuff” and “Burnout 2010″

  168. 213

Nice collection…my favorite is Fun in the Snow

  169. 214

    Wayfaring Wanderer

    December 12, 2010 3:25 pm

I typically have no problem selecting a new wallpaper each month but I didn’t find anything this time. Looking forward to the next round. For now, I’ll stick with what I’ve got :D

  170. 215

Awesome! Spider Web takes first place

  171. 216

Hi, Frosted glass is the best! I want to ask how did you do this?? Exist some tutorial on web? Or can I ask you for some materials…? :) Thanks

  172. 217

Lovely wallpapers! Finally I have a reason to try this rotating wallpaper thing… My favorites are:
    Spider web
    Frosted Glass
    Christmas Icons
    Inspiring Well
    Star Leaves

There are lots of other beautiful wallpapers in there too, those are just my favorites that I will be using the rest of the month. :)

  173. 218

I want wallpaper with Russian winter ><
How can be yellow leaves in December?) It's not winter :D

    I liked this wallpapers:
"Learn to recycle", "Waiting for Christmas", "Christmas eve", "Christmas stuff", "Christmas past", "Burnout 2010", "Holly night", "Snowy love"

Where is New Year? Where is winter?)

  174. 219

I like December dream but it won’t come up when I click on it.

    I always love Cheloveche’s work.

  175. 220

I actually have Festivus as my background right now

  176. 221

    Hi to all ,

This is a really nice place to pick ‘ Smashing’ wallpapers. Kudos to all
    those great designers.

Could i suggest including more wallpapers with the dimensions 1366 x 768

  177. 222

Wow I like it, Merry X’Mas
