Mountains In May
"Mountains In May was inspired by the grandeur and beauty of the mountain ranges I visited on a journey in China. The lushness of the forest and the life growing around me reminded me of the beauty that mother nature privileges us with. With a quote in mind from Thomas Malory and my newfound awe with nature, I set about to create a wallpaper that will hopefully take you into the sights and experiences that I had. To feel the freshness of a morning and the beauty in each new day." Designed by Christian Casimir Teo from Singapore.

April 29th, 2011 10:22 amI definitely have to throw my vote for the Zombie Picnic one. There has been a drastic difference in quality of these wallpapers over the last couple of months. I love almost all of these! Very great post, and I’d love to see more wallpapers of this quality in the future.
Are you kidding me?
April 29th, 2011 10:27 amThese are even worse than March and those were really bad. Whoever is selecting these images should be reassigned to a different project.
Perhaps you should put up all the submissions you receive and then allow readers to vote on the top 20-30, then post those images with and w/o calendars, etc.
Peter Malek
April 29th, 2011 3:11 pmYou don’t have to cry out loud if your wallpapers aren’t picked. I appreciate the work of the editors to present the best wallpapers among the submitted ones. Actually, I like this selection a lot, much more than the one from March.
Are you kidding me?
April 29th, 2011 7:35 pmI’ve never submitted one, let alone created one. I’m merely pointing out that the selection, month after month, are of identical style, color, and artistic quality.
It’s time to mix it up before SM becomes irrelevant.
Izzat
April 30th, 2011 12:16 amone think for sure.. how you know that the one that wasn’t pick is better than the one that was picked?
Anastasia
May 4th, 2011 4:43 amReally, it’s not editors’ fault:) I do believe they chose 20 best out of 60 they got.
It’s not their fault that repeating psdtuts tutorials or applying lomo action in photoshop counts as a design these days:)
Though I like Obrero Del Pixel artwork.

April 29th, 2011 11:06 amAwesome as always!

April 29th, 2011 1:16 pmWhat happened to the guy who does the wooden hand puppets? Those were great. And I think there needs to be a few more from the Southern Hemisphere. Spring desktops don’t work well when it’s Autumn.

April 29th, 2011 11:51 pmI simply fell in love with May Sun Bring the Fun by Narendra. It surely strikes a cord with every Indian kid (and every adult who is still child at heart!)…because it sums up our summer vacation…the fun, the frolic, the outdoor games in the hot sun…the time spent with friends…moms yelling at us asking us to come back home for lunch…That’s how I wish kids today should spend their summer vacations too…not by confining themselves to the comfort of air-conditioned homes, playing virtually on their iPads or Comps or PS3s or watching TV…Instead…they should venture out and find their own summer adventure…
That image surely made me nostalgic because it captures my childhood memory so beautifully…and yet the fact that every Indian kid would see a part of their childhood in that one image…
Beautiful…All outdoor games and Boy, was it fun! Thanks Narendra for helping people like me relive those beautiful memories once again…

I have also played lot of games as these. But nowadays, many of these native games have been forgotten. I wish they must be encouraged.

May 1st, 2011 10:06 amAlthough many of this month’s selections are not my taste, I truly appreciate the artistic talents, skills and efforts of every entry. I have been downloading and using these for over two years and I wait anxiously each month to see the new desktop posiblities. It is like shopping for a present that I give myself each month and this month I chose, “Venetian Mask” for my daily pleasure. Thanks to all!

May 2nd, 2011 1:09 amGoing to use ‘Ready For The Summer’.
It’s a shame that some of the calendars on these wallpapers are placed either too high or too low so that the OS X menu and/or dock cover them – could you maybe set out some guidelines for different OS’s.
I would of used ‘Zombi Picnic’ – but the calendar is half covered by OS X’s menu. Shame!

May 2nd, 2011 1:19 amI love the Explore. Dream. Discover. wallpaper. Its inspiring + the perfect wallpaper because it has the calendar on right with Sun, Mon, Tue written…

Great?

May 3rd, 2011 5:47 pmI really like the May-Hem one but I don’t understand why, at least according to my calendar, Friday and Saturday are bold instead of Saturday and Sunday. (The 1st was Sunday so it should be bold and then the 7th and 8th instead of 6th and 7th etc) Any chance of a correction? I’m just using it without the calendar now.
