Behind the Design

As always, here are some insights from the designers:

“We designed the brand logo section as well as the navigation below to be very clear so that this theme looks neat and attractive. We made the single product page to look clean so users would concentrate more on products and thus is free of distractions. Contents are on the left side, while the add-to-cart button are on the right side, beside the contents.

Don’t miss the opportunity to get this free Balita Theme because there are not many ways you can get a free premium theme everyday. Last but not least, once again, thank you Smashing Magazine for the opportunity.”

Thank you, Tokokoo. We appreciate your work and your good intentions!

Balita doesn’t support product variations, the “add to cart” animation sticks, and related products are set at $0.00 when a product uses a variation.
    How do we fix this?

I created a sandbox wordpress website with ONLY balita and ONLY wp-ecommerce activated, so it is not a conflicting plugin.

The “add to cart” animation displays correctly WITHOUT varitions, and “related products” are priced correctly WITHOUT variations.

I’ve downloaded the Balita theme multiple times, thinking that I had the problem, but it seems like it’s either WP or Balita. I am not able to unzip the file. I am not able to upload it through WP or my server. Does anyone know how to fix this? It’s so frustrating. Thanks.

There is something really wrong with this theme. The only things I have downloaded are the theme and wp-ecommerce. There is nothing else activated and the layout is way out of wack.

Hi, thanks so much for this lovely template. Can we please confirm that we can make any changes to the template we want? However, I’m assuming we are not allowed to remove the copyright logo on the bottom of the home screen?

In the Menu Balita, submenu Theme options wp-admin/admin.php?page=tokokoo, I have a problem, on the form, I get a list of warnings:

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘title’ in /home/d1/htdocs/www/petrocable/wp-content/themes/balita/admin/admin-interface.php on line 1081

What’s the problem and the solution?

Lovely theme. I just opened an online store and I’m using this one. Thanks so much for making it a free theme! It took me a while to figure out how to make it look and function like the demo site. Like others who commented, the layout was all out of whack at first — the slider and the jquery thumbnails didn’t work and the Balita admin was frozen so I couldn’t even upload a logo. I reinstalled it and everything started working perfectly! One weird thing though, I updated the WP-ecommerce plugin and now the grid view isn’t working. Its default to list view and there’s an option to purchase to get the grid view. Anyone else having this issue?

    Hi.

I can’t get the theme to work. It just shows the header on the website even though all the content is on the page and I can see it when I click the “Visual” tab on Edit Page.

I’ve deleted all other plugins and the other themes I had installed. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

I have been looking for an e-commerce supporting theme where I can show case some of the affiliate products online. Do you think this can support or have any idea that can help me in this project?

Can’t get to work the variations, they don’t show on the single products page and when I click add to cart it just sticks and it doesn’t work.

    How can I fix it?

    Thanks

I guess you solved that problem, right?

To all who have this error, the solution is to install the plugin WP e-Commerce and nothing else.
