October 31st, 2011 5:29 amThat`s great! “The Most Productive Month” is so good to me and it`s already on my laptop =)

October 31st, 2011 5:31 amAs much as I love your monthly wallpapers… it would be great if they weren’t all based on the current Northern Hemisphere season. It’s the middle of summer in the Southern Hemisphere and Autumn themed wallpapers are just depressing for me…
Lori
October 31st, 2011 6:50 amThen why don’t you create one for the Southern Hemisphere!

October 31st, 2011 9:21 pmI wish I could :( but I’m a developer with zero design skills

Ami
November 4th, 2011 12:17 pmI completely agree! It’s getting warmer and warmer where I live, so that almost all of the wallpapers are Autumn themed kind of depress me. And I also wish there were more 1366×768 sized wallpapers, there used to be much more on previous editions and now there’s only one. :(

October 31st, 2011 5:39 amIf you guys would have more usable content, rather than half a million ads that take two minutes to load, I’d pay more attention.
Dave
October 31st, 2011 5:59 amNice, I have been waiting for these, however, its really annoying that so few are available in 1280X800. I know many people are using big widescreens but most standard 15.4″ laptop screens still look best in 1280×800
Kate
November 1st, 2011 4:20 amYes, please have more in 1280×800 !! The ones I like the best aren’t in that size. :(
Gerardo
November 3rd, 2011 12:03 pmI agree that it’s annoying if you cannot find your resolution, but I think that as long as they have some versions with the same 16:10 aspect ratio it should be just fine. You’re not going to loose a lot of quality by scaling down a 1920×1200 wallpaper… ;-)
btw: I think this month’s selection is above average…really nice…

October 31st, 2011 8:55 amI was going to choose the clearing in a foggy forest, but to me it was spoilt by the ‘clearing in a foggy forest’ text in the picture. I’ve instead chosen the Cool November one. I love Autumn and these are terrific photos.

FYI – In the intro paragraph, you state:
“This post features 30 free desktop wallpapers created by artists across the globe for October 2011. ” Last I checked…we’re coming up on November 2011. :)

October 31st, 2011 12:10 pmThese are so cool! But why the northern hemisphere focus? You’re omitting half the world where it’s spring. Just because you guys are in Europe doesn’t mean that the rest of the world is. How about a more balanced editorial approach? I’d love to use these, but not when it’s sunny and blossoming outside. (Australia)

November 1st, 2011 12:01 amTwistidd, we present the best wallpapers that we receive from our readers. We don’t have any bias towards northern hemisphere, it’s just we don’t get enough submissions for the southern hemisphere!

October 31st, 2011 12:41 pmWow, loads of good ones this month. Going to be tricky to pick just one!

October 31st, 2011 11:50 pmOver a year ago I stumbled across SM. Since then I’ve had each months calenders as my background and have them on rotation. All my students look forward to seeing them and they really appreciate the variety of aspects of all of them. They certainly bring a different level of interest and excitement to Maths classes. To all contributors and SM keep up the fantabulous work.

November 1st, 2011 3:29 amI wish the designer of “Most productive month” would’ve thought a little bit more about people with Windows 7 taskbar on the top of the screen. It now covers a bit of the Smashing logo and the center graphics.

November 1st, 2011 10:40 amThe calander on wallpaper named November 1st about the Algerian revolution is incorrect. 11/1/2011 starts on Tuesday, the calander has the 11/1/2011 starting on Thursday.
