Desktop Wallpaper Calendars: May 2014

We always try our best to challenge your artistic abilities and produce some interesting, beautiful and creative artwork. And as designers we usually turn to different sources of inspiration. As a matter of fact, we’ve discovered the best one—desktop wallpapers that are a little more distinctive than the usual crowd. This creativity mission has been going on for six years now1, and we are very thankful to all designers who have contributed and are still diligently contributing each month.

This post features free desktop wallpapers created by artists across the globe for May 2014. Both versions with a calendar and without a calendar can be downloaded for free. It’s time to freshen up your wallpaper!

Please note that:

  • All images can be clicked on and lead to the preview of the wallpaper,
  • You can feature your work in our magazine2 by taking part in our Desktop Wallpaper Calendars series. We are regularly looking for creative designers and artists to be featured on Smashing Magazine. Are you one of them?

The Meditation 1920×1200 with calendar pulls up 1680×1200 instead. File name is correct by actual image dimensions are wrong. Could you please fix the link. It is a nice desktop background to use.

As James said the ‘Design Solves Problem’ is a pretty direct rip-off of Sean Wes’ lettering:

    https://dribbble.com/shots/1338769-Three-Pipe-Problems-Live-Sketch
    http://seanwes.com/three-pipe-problems-live-sketch/

It’s not just the phrase, but the specific form and shape too.

    Hot Air Balloon Ride
Colorful City (currently using at work)
    May Your Dreams Come True
    MonkGolfier

I love the Meditation Month wallpaper. Unfortunately I downloaded the 1920 x 1200 with calendar and the sizing is incorrect. The 1920 x 1200 without calendar is the correct size but I want the calendar. :(

Is there any App for Mac that will download those every month and randomly show them? That would be great!

    Cant be so hard:
Listen to XML Feed for “wallpaper”
Try to download for the right resolution
    Put in a folder
User has to set this folder in his settings of “Desktop/Background”

But im not a developer :(
