The Smashing Editorial loves high-quality content and cares about little details. We also believe that content and design are crafts worth sharpening.
I visit this site for years and only now I realize that you are from Freiburg – just around the corner :-) Keep up the good work! Greetings from Stuttgart, Oliver
Smashing magazine my daily reading online magazine, it is a world of creative resources and learning center for any web designers and developers.
8999 comments? I’m not going to load that page again. And it’s true that the comic strip was really boring. Stay Smashing!
Awesome team :)
Smashing magazine has french readers also : “J’adore Smashing magazine, c’est toujours des infos de qualité ! Continuez comme ça.”
I love Smashing magazine
I guess that “about us” page is here since ever but never noticed.
I have only one critic to your magazine: why is the search done through google, when it could be much nicer and effectiver done by your own means?
i realised only now, reading your about page, that you live in freiburg. the city of my dreams.. awesome!
I’s been a year and i have been regularly reading smashing mag, a creative block , some leisure time , a bit of R & D , and i know what i should be doing. By far its still in the top of my list for web logs and magazines on webdesign to read. 3 cheers to the guys who work hard so that we easily get great articles to read. Thanks to the whole team.
Looking forward to some more interesting and innovative creations and articles.

One of the site which i have been visiting for years. Keep up the good work.
Smashing Magazine is my one stop destination whether to update myself, design inspiration or anything else. All you guys or “design Smashers” really rock. Learnt a lot from your articles from over past 2 years. Keep on doing the great great work like you are doing.
Hi Smash guys >>>

I like the way you approach the UI/Web Elements/
Best place for a designers to hangout… :P
What is the address to submit something other than a calendar for publication to give as a freebie? Thank you.
I wanted to say I think this is my favorite site on the web by far. Amazing amount of resources, tool and suggestions.
Question:
I was wondering if there was any way to alter the pagination, throughout the site to show all? My only issues, if i can even call it that, with the site, is that search results force you to stroll through many many pages.
Thanks for your consideration,
Stu
The only thing that sucks on SM is that sometimes there come multiple new articles on one day, but sometimes there comes nothing new in 2 or 3 days. But it’s still a great website ;)

liked the concept of showing look-alike cartoons for About Us :)
I love your site, its incredible. I have learned so much from this site. I wanted to ask you if its fine with you if I copy your articles (with reference) and paste on my blog? please let me know about it.

I have only one critic to your magazine: why is the search done through google, when it could be much nicer and effectiver done by your own means?
Jeroen Ransijn
May 9th, 2011 2:31 pmSmashing magazine is based on WordPress. The built-in search functionality of WP is not so great. There are lots of articles and plugins on the web about changing the default WP search to Google Custom search. Why? Google gives concise and relevant results.
I could argue with you the styling of the embedded Google search is a bit off, this is really hard to adapt, and on the other hand, it gives users an experience they know.
What do you suggest with this? “when it could be much nicer and effectiver done by your own means?”

Yeah but the most good sites are in english and if you wanna be a good designer and want to be better you should read english articles more than german articles. It’s like learning a programming language. If you don’t want read english papers you will be lost. :P

Sven Lennartz
August 10th, 2010 10:21 amThe Forums closed in April. Here is an old text about what happened:
Merely one year after its introduction the Smashing forum will be closed. it’s an open secret – as everybody can see – that the Smashing forum is not eactly the happening place. Frankly speaking, it’s all but Smashing. When it comes right down to it, the forum never even had a chance. Having survived the instant floods of spam mails and SEOs in its first days of existence, it’s never been capabale to grow by itself as Google would’nt index it. Today it’s still being abused as dump for links and advertising which is a source of nuisance to all honest forum members, who have used the forum to discuss webdesign topics with other professionals, who sought advice or contributed useful input. We thank all of these faithful members. But now the time has come to say goodbye. The server is going to be closed down next week. You may rest assure that your data will safely be deleted; they are not going to be used for any other purposes. See you at Smashing Magazine!
Sidd
