What Every Designer Should Do Right Now

While trying to balance the different areas of our life, there are things that we often forget and neglect to do. With today's fast-paced society and the busyness of our every day, we tend to overlook some important things. Behind the Scenes of the Design Informer Redesign

One of the hardest decisions that I had to face with this blog thus far is determining when it is the right time for a redesign. To some people, it is clear that their site is old and outdated and in need of a total makeover. To others, it is a lot harder to realize their need of a redesign since their site is doing well and have received great compliments about their current design. That is my case. Graphic design practice embraces a range of cognitive skills, aesthetics and crafts, including typography, visual arts and page layout. Like other forms of design, graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.”

100 Years of Movie Title Stills

I'm always observing graphic design in different things. The other day, while I was watching something on TV, the design of the title screen caught my attention. I figured that this would be a great idea to post on Design Informer. I quickly got to work and started researching. Come to find out that there were some great sites that have already collected hundreds of movie title stills.

Design Informer is 3 Months Old

I have been an avid follower of blogs such as Smashing Magazine and Web Designer Depot for a long time. A little over 3 months ago, I decided that it was time that I also gave back to the design community, hence, Design Informer was born. The blog officially opened on October 31st, 2009. During the first week, the blog didn't really get a lot of visitors. Once in a while someone would drop in and leave a comment and retweet the articles but for the most part, the blog was pretty much void of any response.
