Why Intellectual Property Rights Are So Important

Intellectual property rights are often confusing and sometimes the topic of heated debates. There are those who question the worth of creative products and projects, claiming design and art are something anyone can do, regardless of training, experience, or any inherent ability. As creatives, a deterioration of intellectual property rights is a dangerous possibility. By going public with our work, we have no recourse to prevent others from using our designs, our photos, or our other artwork without paying us or even offering proper credit.

Ask the Expert – Design Discussion with Chuck Anderson of NoPattern

We have another Ask the Expert interview for all of you. I will be interviewing one of my favorite graphic designers, Chuck Anderson.

Chuck Anderson is a graphic designer who has achieved much success at an early age due to determination and hard work. Freelancing straight out of high school, he has managed to work with brands such as Nike, Reebok, Pepsi, Sony and even Google and Microsoft. Ask the Expert – Speaking About Startups with Collis Ta’eed of Envato

Ask the Expert is a popular and on-going interview series here on Design Informer. In this edition of Ask the Expert, I had the chance to email Collis Ta'eed and ask him some questions regarding Envato, the popular web startup.

James White is a graphic designer from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His personal art and design ambitions has landed him in many worldwide creative publications such as Computer Arts magazine, Computer Arts Projects, Advanced Photoshop magazine, Wired UK and the spanish DT Platinum magazine where he was included in their ‘21 People of the Century’ article. Additionally, James was also named as the Best Visual Artist in The Coast’s ‘Best of Halifax 2009’ readers poll.
