  3. 3

Magento theme ?? For free ? That’s awesome. Magento is really getting more and more spread. Noticed you use Magento for your pre-sale book when I ordered it ;)

  4. 4

And still no decent 2CO module

  5. 5

Demo link doesn’t work. Please fix it!
    However, nice theme…

The Silverthemes’ server couldn’t manage the traffic :( We replaced the link to the demo with full preview images.

  6. 7

Nice, but why give away something that only a few people can use?

Why so? The theme can serve as a solid foundation for your next projects, isn’t it?

      • 9

Ofcourse, but when a freebie has a connection to a company trying to sell a product I’m always a little suspicious…
But hey, never mind me, I’m just an old fart. Keep up your good work! :-)

  7. 10

    thanks for sharing ..

  8. 11

Thanks, there are so few good _free_ Magento themes around. It’s such a great shopping cart too.

  9. 12

Actually anyone can use it, you don’t have to keep it in Magento. I’ll toss a copy of Magento onto our test server, install this and then scrape the entire thing into raw HTML. After that it’s about an hours work to make it a Joomla/Virtuemart template. Though I think I might use the opportunity to get some time in on Zen-Cart.

  10. 13

For a free theme it’s a great freebie. As with any serious business though a tailored bespoke solution is always best. For new startups however this seems perfect.

  11. 14

Great Free theme. I even love the free opportunity to BUY the plugin to make it work like the theme is supposed to.

Its a sharp theme indeed, but not so impressive without the plugin. So its not so free.

  12. 15

wow thank u very much ..

  13. 16

    Big Ups, SM!

I may find a use for this, or I may not. Either way, I like seeing “Free High-Quality” themes that are not just for WordPress.

  14. 17

Thanks for this theme. It would be nice if there were more high-quality themes like this available for other platforms, rather than “just” WordPress and Blogger.

  15. 18

awesome love the open source – thanks it looks shiny

  16. 19

I had an issue with the Search Box not displaying properly. For whatever reason, the header.phtml template file was trying to echo a single line of PHP code using <?= … ?> (which I have disabled on my Production Server) instead of <?php echo … ?> .

To fix that, run this diff patch from the document root of your Magento install:

Edit: Obviously, if you don’t have an issue with the search box, then you don’t need to run this patch. If you do, and you can’t figure it out, then this will help.

  17. 20

Hey guys, this is really great, thank you very much for sharing!

  18. 21

The link to the demo-store is now up running again.

  19. 22

well…of all them free shopping solutions, Magento has the best interface, but it is rather picky when it comes to server configuration…I never made it work actually.

  20. 23

    Great work!

I’m so glad to see Smashing Magazine provide templates other than WordPress! While I love WordPress, there are so many more CMS and shopping carts that need the Smashing Magazine touch. Also, it’s hard to find high quality Magento themes, so I’m even happier to see this!

  28. 31

Just the right time. I am looking for a free shopping cart and was thinking of using Magento. This is really great downloading it now. Thanks SM.

  29. 32

it looks awesome and I’m loving it ;-)

  30. 33

    Awesome theme!
Could someone tell me how to build that menu like the one in the demo? (i.e. Home / Furniture / Clothes / Computers etc).
I’ve tried creating categories and sub-categories, but they aren’t appearing anywhere, at all. Sorry for my noob question, but I’d really appreciate your patience and help.

  31. 34

Nevermind, I’ve realized the categories needed to be childs of the main default category. newbie mistake :P
    Fantastic theme, nonetheless

  32. 35

How can i get the home page?

  33. 36

I want use the theme on my site
But i don’t how to set my homepage.

  34. 37

I installed this theme with Magento

The problem I have is that the only layout that works is the “1 column” layout. If I select the 2 or 3 column layouts the side graphic borders are missing and the background is transparent.

    Anyone know what’s wrong? Thanks.

    • 38

      same here.

    • 39

I’ve got the same problem !

      • 40

        Hi, same prob here.

        has anyone a work-around

        greetings Erik

        • 41

I am currently running ver, had the same issue with the Sigyn theme and inadvertently figured out this fix:

          – Download ver on to your computer.

          – Navigate to magentodownloaderskininstall
inside the install folder you will find 5 css files: boxes.css, clears.css, ie7minus.css, iestyles.css, and reset.css.

          – Upload those 5 css files into your server in this location:

Incidentally, this also fixed a couple formatting issues I was having with the main “home” navigational bar.

  35. 42

Nice article! I also recommend some free nice themes for magento 1.4.x
    Thanks you!
