As usual, the theme is absolutely free to use in private and commerical projects.

Motivation for the design Link

As always, here are some insights from the designers:

Sight is a powerful WordPress theme, best suited for Magazines and Blogs. The theme was designed in modern minimalistic style with Golden Grid usage. It has two views to get information in the way you want — a standard blog view and a grid view. A big image slider on the top gives you extra ability to show the most important content.

The theme supports the newest WordPress versions and has 2 Custom Menu Locations. 2 pagination types are available: Default with WP-NAVI support and Ajax-fetching, like in previous Twitter interface. The Sight theme supports Social Media. It has links to share each post to Twitter, Facebook, Delicious Digg, no plugins needed. It is also Search Engine Optimized, so you don’t need to care about it, just set it up and get love from Google.

Please don’t forget to visit designer’s website30 for more free high-quality themes.

Thanks for the thumbs down! The above result is from Debogger WordPress plugin that is used as the first step to check themes before being approved for WP themes repository. With these errors, it will not even be accepted by the system, let alone be passed by a reviewer.

      • 11

Thanks, I’ll check this out. Anyway, theme has a lot of random code, so we don’t except, that WP themes repository will accept this theme.

        • 12

As all your themes are free, it would be a good idea to get it approved for WordPress themes repository. The review process helps improve the theme. I liked the themes on your site. I also prefer minimal themes, the only ones that I have designed.

  9. 13

Very nice themes. Simplicity with usability will always be my favorite!

    Yhanks for sharing!

  10. 14

Done and done. This is exactly what I was looking for!! I already put it on the blog! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

  11. 15

    Definitely a great theme…

  12. 16

Very good, but the slideshow dont Work.

  13. 17

It came with perfect timing… thx.

  14. 18

I might replace my (own) current theme at …with some modifications.

  15. 19

Is there any documentation with this? I installed and had no top menu and can’t see any customisation options in my dashboard.

  16. 20

documentation is required its not working properly!

    • 21

Hammad. Theme uses standard WordPress options, so i don’t see any reason, to write documentation. Just relax, it’s working.

  17. 22

How do i activate the posts and banner to show the images i posted on the homepage, and recently added posted?

  18. 29

theme very good! but it’s not upload on my blog. i was try but not working, please tell me how can i upload,

    • 30

Rajeev, try extracting first and upload the “sight” subfolder into your themes. The zip install didn’t work for me either.

    • 31

Yes. Upload via admin panel is not working, you need use ftp.

  19. 32

It’s really a simple theme and dynamic, ! Thank you.

  20. 33

    really nice theme!

how to configure the media settings?

  21. 34

Wow! This should not be for free. I mean, look at the function and its feature. It has this “load more” that is catchy. Amazing and cool !! I’m gonna try to create one like this =)

But i can’t do anything since it’s free, i’ll grab it. My ten folds thanks guys.

  22. 35

Awesome! Its definately going the right way. Simple and clean. Thanks

  23. 36

WPShower, you’re awesome anyway, but the Sight-Theme is one of your masterpieces! Thank you so much, gonna use it very soon on my site.

Great theme! I’ve been looking for something similar and with a few tweaks and customizations I’m definitely going to use this.
One thing though: How come the posts I want to show in the slider won’t show up in the usual posts on the main page? I want only some of my posts to show up in the slider but have all of them in the list beneath.

    • 39

Post which is added to slideshow, should not be on the main page. To add post to slideshow, just select checkbox. The options are in the right column near the bottom of the post editing page. They are labeled “Slideshow Options”.

      • 40

        Andreas Svalås

        November 25, 2010 10:54 am

Is there a way to make the posts show in both the slideshow and the list?
I would like to be able to highlight only certain posts by using the slideshow.

          December 21, 2010 6:57 am

          I’m supporting Andreas Question.
One possible programing outlet is to identify a category say “Featured” and only those who are marked as “Featured” get to appear in the Slideshow area.
[or others if the user wishes….]

  25. 42

Hi. Sorry I installed the latest WordPress 3.0.1 but the Theme simply won’t appear in the available themes page in WordPress administration. I already chmodded to 777 the sight folder. My structure is /wp-content/themes/sight

  26. 43

This what I’m getting right now. Can’t figure out why the main content area is messed up.

  27. 45

im having a problem, how would i display the featured image that pops on on my homepage to pop up on my recent posts. My recent posts are just text anyway to change that?

  28. 46

What a lovely theme. Looks like it will be not to hard to tailor it to my needs :) Only having one problem with that, I would like to change the color on the rollover in the gridview. But I can’t find where it is defined… whatever I do it stays yellow…

  29. 52

For some reason, the slideshow pictures won’t show. I’m uploading featured pictures, that worked with other themes. What do I do exactly to publish a featured/slideshow post with a picture showing up in the slideshow?

    • 53

      nevermind, found out

      • 54

How can I set up the images for the slideshow? I cannot understand how…Please tell me how you found it

        • 55

well you upload an image normaly and in the bottom you have something like “use as featured image” near the size thing. click it and then exactly below the slideshow checbox the “featured image” will appear. It’s on the right column in the edit post page is the site i’m using it and I’m working on making the posts from the slideshow to appear in the content area too. I have to do a double loop i think…

      • 57

Could you share what you did? I can’t seem to find the solution to the same problem. Thanks!

  30. 58

anyone know how i would be able to change the favicon? I uploaded the file to the image directory, even replaced it and its still not showing up. any ideas?

  31. 59

My load button for the posts shows up as a text, it displays “load more” in a blue text, rather then the nice clickable button the theme has set up. Any ideas?

  32. 60

Perfect timing, I’m about to begin a new project with a layout very similar to this theme. Thanks.

  33. 61

Its just beautiful… I am gonna tweak it a bit for my own blog :)

  34. 62

Awesome WordPress Theme and Good review too

  35. 63

Awesome theme! Ridiculously clean and epic!
I tried loading it up, having a bit of a rough patch using the Social sidebar widget and FeedBurner though. It seems to play havoc with my database and cause errors.

  36. 64

thats a nice theme and looks more of a newspaper rather than magazine style i think its because of only black color used for fonts

  37. 65

I’m having issues the with the pagination – AJAX-fetching posts. Its nothing loading up the way it looks like in the demo. I switched from, Default + WP Page-Navi support to AJAX-fetching posts. Went back and forth numerous times. Its not working.

Anyone else having this problem? And how would i fix it?

    November 26, 2010 3:11 am

Thumbs down, so far. After activating the theme, my whole back end went blank, so did the front end. Litteraly blank!
I had to delete the theme folder on the server in order to get my data back…
A pity, the theme seems so promising

  39. 67

I am testing your theme and it looks great,………………but the latest entries overview shows nothing.
If however i browse to it does show an overview.

When i switch themes the latest entries are shown, can this be a little bug i your theme.

    Kind regards

  40. 68

Does anyone know what the font used for the ‘sight’ logo is? I quite like it!

  41. 70

    Multiple authors?

How can I make this theme work with multiple post authors (in the byline) (using a plugin such as Co-Authors Plus)?

(I really think WP should have this basic functionality built in)

Really really good theme! Thank you! :)

  43. 72

It’s making me wonder why I bought Headway. Beautiful theme, thanks.

  44. 73

Amazing theme, might be useful as a “framework” theme since it is very simple and WP 3 ready.
    Great job, thanks!

  45. 74

I’ve been using the same wordpress theme (Blix) for the past 3 years, mainly because that theme was so perfect for my website. And now I’m making the switch to Sight. Totally awesome theme.

  46. 75

What an amazing theme, thank you!

  47. 76

I want a category with child categories as drop down element in the navigation menu. How shall i do this? And how i get such a connect item like in the preview page?

    • 77

      Darren Taylor

      December 1, 2010 7:49 am

Markus I did this by creating a link with a label “Connect” and added to the navigation. I then removed the link url and then dropped the social networking links as children below this.

      • 78

Yep, thanks, but this wont work for the post categories…
Got an idea how it will work?

      • 79

Darren, as a WP beginner, I followed you up to creating a label “Connect,” adding it to the navigation menu, and removing the link url. But what does it mean to “drop the social networking links as children below this?” Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  48. 80

    wow! very nice theme!!

  49. 81

Hello! I really like your theme – especially the comments-design. But the rest does not fit my style of blog, so I copied some elements. How should I credit to you now? =)

  50. 82

i really like this theme where or how ican get it in french

it would be really cool if ican use it in french langauge

    • 83

translate the whole theme… that’s what I’m doing for a romanian site. If you need any help email me gidea (aaat) live (d.ot) com

  51. 85

    gorgeous. thanks!

  52. 86

The theme also has bugs in Opera, the stylesheet of the article list wont be loaded by first load. Also the slideshow is buggy in Opera, the text wrapping is missing after the first slide of an item.

  53. 89

How do I get the RSS feed to show subscribers? I get:

This feed does not permit Awareness API access readers

So my feed is not created properly I guess…any help would be appreciated.

  54. 91

Really a great theme. Love it and thinking to use it…

  55. 92

cool theme and i am going to use it for a test on my subdimain and after successful implementation i will be using it for my main site

  56. 93

Gorgeous! … No denying that its one of the best. :) You guys shut the ass of all the premium sellers. :D

  57. 94

This theme is great, I’d reallly like to set the grid layout as the default. I’ve tried monkeying around with some of the php and javascript to no avail. Anyone have any idea on how to set the grid layout as the default?

  58. 95

    Great Theme!

I was wondering how I can change the favicon on the tab?

  59. 97

I like it so much, thank you!

  60. 98

LOVE. Using this theme for my writing site

  61. 99

I got this errors by loading the theme in opera:

  62. 100

Love it! I was looking for something like this.

  63. 101

It is great theme actually, but thumbnail images on homepage are blurry. How I can fix this?

  64. 103

I upload the theme folder via FTP but still shows blank. I use the latest WP 3.02. Can any help? Thanks!

  65. 104

This is a top theme, the best i have ever seen for WP3.
    Congratulations !

  66. 105

Anyone having issues since updating to WP 3.0.3. If you got to the single post, the Twitter and Delicious icons are not working; just code. Also, the header has some issues too.

  67. 106

Has anyone by chance been able to change the default view to “grid” mode instead of “list”?

This theme is amazing and WPShower are really breathing some new life into the WordPress theme community. I did an interview with the founder of WPShower, it’s available to read here:

  71. 110

That’s awesome!!! But it’s not available on :'(

  72. 111

Great theme but cannot figure out how to get latest entries to display at all. Anyone know if I have to monkey with theme editor to display Categories or Posts in the latest entries spot? Thanks from Boulder

Hi, this theme totally rocks, so thank you guys so much for
offering this to the public :D
I can’t, however, show the menu right of the logo – I think there’s a bug. Same thing goes for the search bar in the far right corner – or anything else I put in… Any tips? I’ve placed both the ‘Search’ and the ‘Custom menu’ widget in the field ‘Site description’, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Cheers, Christian

PS (update): Both elements seem to actually be there, but they’re hidden below the header… So I really hope someone can help me out here :)

  76. 115

    Awesome!! Thanks!!

  77. 116

GREAT THEME. It works awesome, I just installed it at
I just have 1 question: How do I get the RECENT POSTS to show the tiny little thumb in the sidebar widget?

    Dianelys Morato

  78. 117

Not sure why on the background there is a white diagonal line… Looks weird.
Seems like the template needs a few small touches to finally shine. Since there is no update, got to jump in myself.

    • 118

the line is just a background image. Replace it with your own

      • 119

        Hi Diane,

How do you get the grid view to work? I can’t get mine to work. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  79. 120

There is a bug issue in Opera 11.00. When I’m trying to load posts with ajax and custom permalinks it don’t load anything. Changing permalinks to default resolve this issue, but I’m going to find out what is the problem. Any solutions yet?

  80. 121

Ok, I’ve completely resolved the bug in Opera. Now you can change permalinks and it will work. All you have to do is to change your script.js

    Find this:

    url: $(this).attr('href') + '#loop',

    and replace with:

    url: $(this).attr('href'),

And you’ve done :) Good luck!

  81. 122

As Pritam mentioned above, the theme is throwing tons of errors in debug mode. It’s a great-looking theme but the errors really should be cleaned up.

  82. 123

très jolie thème facile à installer et qui marche à merveille. je l’ai adopté pour mon site. Si vous avez besoin d’aide en français je peux vous l’accorder avec plaisir et encore merci au créateur.

  83. 125

Not found some thing unique in this theme.

  84. 126

how can i put the slideshow to each page? i’m not programmer… so need details what code to what file i should include…
and how can i highlight the current category in navigation menu?

The Javascript seems to not work in this version I have. The slider or latest article layout system is static.

    Any help?

  86. 128

I would like to use the slider only in my own theme. Can anyone give me some guidelines on how I can get that to work? Would appreciate that a lot. I would like it to take every single post and not specific as it is now.

Any ideas? There are other things I want to modify in it as well, but I would know how to do that.

  87. 129

It’s just beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

  88. 130

thank u 4 this lovely theme – it’s just what i was looking for.
i do have 2 questions that I’m hoping you might be able to help me with:

    1. can i define that the grid format (for posts) will be the default when people arrive at the homepage?
    2. is there an option for the slideshow to be image only (ie. no post panel to the right?)

    many thanks in advance. x

  89. 131

I LOVE this theme! Thank you so much for creating it and making it free. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get my new posts to show up under “Latest Entries.” I am sure it is probably something simple and I am overlooking it, but I just can’t figure it out. Can anyone help me out?

  90. 132

This is just so clean and elegant and impressive –a big thank-you to everyone involved!

  91. 133

For posts residing in the slideshow, is it possible to allocate a separate image for the thumbnail? I’m finding the long width of the slideshow to be well-suited to images containing a triptych of multiple pics, but this looks funny when the thumbnail version is shown.

  92. 134

Lovely simple theme cheers, hell of a lot of comments on this though (and I’m adding to them) thanks for the freebie

  93. 135

I would like to reiterate what Andreas asked: Is there a way to make all posts show up under latest posts, even if it’s the same post that shows up in featured posts?

Also, is there a way to change the small icon next to the tab/window title? The one with the white-on-black S? I changed the logo, but can’t seem to figure out how to change that part.

  94. 136

    Dankie vir die interessante blog

  95. 137

It doesn’t work with wp-prettyPhoto plugin :/. Does anyone can help with that ?

  96. 138

one question, How to show the top menu on the side of website description?

  97. 139

    Hi everyone,

I’m sorry I can’t switch to grid view. It’s strange. Initially, I thought my mac firefox and safari might be the issue. When I moved onto Windows IE and Firefox, it’s the same. Then I tried, the grid view is working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on all the platforms. Also, my site is Thanks!

      Hi everyone,

FYI, after going through the issue with my hosting company, in order for the javascript to work/switching to grid view, on the server side, apache mod, mod security has to be disabled.

So if you cannot switch to grid view, do check with your hosting company.

Now I have another issue. I used to have the plugin, jQuery Lightbox For Native Galleries, working. However, it seems to be incompatible with Sight theme. Any kind folks who is well versed enough to advise? Thanks!

theres an error in this theme, it blocks your server and everything goes dead.

the solution is to change the javascript file name which is something like cookie.js to something like wookie.js and then change the link to it in the theme the name cookie for the file trips my server firewall and my server blocks my own IP from my own server, thinking im spamming..

A nice theme, I think the share buttons are too faint though plus still looking at it in terms of seo….hmmmmm

So is it possible to add thumbnail images to the homepage grid like they show in the previews? Is it a custom field or something?

Hi I love your sight theme! I have recently adopted it for my personal blog. I saw it first on this site and I was wondering how they managed to add custom header images to each of their categories? I have read all the comments above and haven t seen this question covered. Does anyone have an idea?
    Thanks for your help

Does this theme has a premium version? I have started using the free version of the theme. But I want to upgrade it now.

I remember seeing about the premium version of the theme somewhere on the Internet. But couldn’t find anything about it now.

I love SIGHT, use it lots, but often forget how to set things up. Do you have a instructions page for it?
