Desktop Wallpaper Calendars: November 2015

We all love a good wallpaper to polish up our desktops. So to provide you with fresh artwork on a regular basis, we embarked on our desktop wallpaper mission seven years ago. Each month we challenge you, the design community, to get your creative juices flowing and produce some interesting, beautiful and creative wallpapers. And, well, it wasn’t any different this time around.

Just like every month, designers and artists from across the globe challenged their artistic abilities and contributed their designs. The result is a collection of desktop wallpapers that are a little more distinctive than the usual crowd. All of them come in a version with and without a calendar and are free to download. A big thank-you to everyone who shared their artwork! Which one will make it to your November desktop?

Please note that:

  • All images can be clicked on and lead to the preview of the wallpaper,
  • You can feature your work in our magazine by taking part in our Desktop Wallpaper Calendars series. We are regularly looking for creative designers and artists to be featured on Smashing Magazine. Are you one of them?

Autumn Love

“November is in the middle of autumn. When I started to make this wallpaper, I’ve created a mood board that tells exactly what I think about when hearing ‘autumn’. Warm colors, drinking tea, coffee and hot chocolate with marshmallows, cosy sweaters, reading a good book in front of the fireplace, falling leaves, windy weather, pumpkins, cuddling with my blanket, taking a walk in the woods,… I have tried to illustrate a bit of this ‘autumn feeling’ in this wallpaper.” — Designed by Larissa Goethals from Belgium.

I love the Smashing Magazine calendars and have been downloading them for many years now. Many thanks to Smashing Magazine and the contributing artist.

One of my all time favorites is a design by Amy Hamilton that shows a fawn laying in leaves (October 2012). When I saw Cozy November, I thought how nice that she did an update but I came to find out that it wasn’t done by her. I think Pop Art Studio should have at least acknowledge her design because, to me at least, the feel of it is relatively similar.

Hmm, I looked at both and it could be entirely coincidental. Pop Art Studio might not have even looked at past submissions when illustrating this one.

Blessings to all designer’s and their seamless efforts.

But I really upset for this month that there is no wallpaper for DIWALI celebration. 10+ billion people celebrate it and no gift for them.

My choice for this month is “Hold on”.

    Hi Vitaly,

Can you give a option in the calendar section to check the current resolution and change the background? It will be helpful for people to put the background quickly.

    :)
