39 Tuneful Musical Instruments Icons [Freebie]

Music plays an important part in all cultures and comes in many forms. It’s a great way to stimulate our thinking and our creativity, and music instruments often even support therapy and healing.

Designed by the team behind IconCrafts1, this music instrument icon set is dedicated to all music lovers. It consists of 39 carefully crafted vector icons. All icons are available as 48, 64 and 128px PNG (+ @2x 256px versions + sprites), as well as SVG files. Five different styles are available.

Feel free to modify the size, color or shape of the icons. No attribution is required, though reselling bundles or individual pictograms isn’t allowed (and it isn’t cool either). Please note that the set is released under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license. We kindly ask you to provide credits to the creator and link to this article if you would like to spread the word.

Insights From The Designer Link

“Playing an instrument, making music, or simply enjoying music is one of the most hedonistic rituals of people. Science claims that music has a number of positive physiological effects on us, like reducing stress, boosting our motivation, or providing dopamine to our brain’s pleasure centres.

In celebration of all the good music out there, we’ve created this icon set, called Musical Instruments. This set contains 39 icons depicting the most popular musical instruments and objects of our time.”

A big thank you to IconCrafts5 for designing this wonderful icon set — we sincerely appreciate your time and efforts!

Keep up the great work!

These should be referred to as graphic assets or something other than icons IMO.
Icons are symbols, simple and suggestive. Details require more cognitive sacrifice to decode, icons should be reduced down to their most simplistic parts and express a concept with as little brain power requirements as possible so they can be recognized in traffic as you drive 90mph down the highway. It takes elegance! Not just a 2d render of objects.
Like why does the microphone icon need a partial cord and mic stand? Just make a simple mic, eh?

These are super awesome! Kudos to a job well done. In the future, please please please note the difference between a tuba and a French horn. :o) Thanks!
