CareerFoundry offers online courses in Web Development, UX Design, UI Design, and iOS. Through our in-depth online courses, and by connecting our students with mentors who are experts actively working in the industry, we aim to transform complete beginners into tech professionals in just 6 months.

About the Subject Matter Expert role

You’ll be contracted for 3-7 months to write a long-form web development course with a focus on full-stack JavaScript—in particular, Node.js, REST, React, Redux, Vue.js, TypeScript, and React Native. With the support of our curriculum design team, you’ll help create an engaging, challenging, and immersive online course which will take learners from beginners to hirable junior frontend or full-stack JavaScript developer. The course itself consists mainly of text-based content supplemented by images, tasks, video reviews, and links to additional resources for further learning.

What we’re looking for

The subject matter expert we’re looking for is an experienced JavaScript developer and…

  • a native-level or fluent English speaker
  • a current developer with an up-to-date portfolio and at least 3 years of experience in the tech industry
  • a good writer with a strong interest in instructional writing
  • has teaching or mentoring experience
  • has experience collaborating with a remote team
  • is communicative and open to queries and feedback

  • collaborate with another subject matter expert to author the course content,
  • project prompts for student portfolios, rubrics, quizzes, and related tasks
  • source images and code snippets work closely with our curriculum team to ensure quality and engagement
