Design System Builder / DesignOps Specialist

As Design System Builder / DesignOps Specialist you will be part of the digital team at zooom productions GK in Tokyo and you will support the team across the entire DesignOps scope to deliver successful projects for its clients — internal and external. This position can be rendered fully remote or preferred in our office in Tokyo. Currently we offer this position as freelance work with a project limited contract. A contract transformation into an unlimited position is not completely unrealistic.

Your main task will be to help us to further develop and improve our multi-brand, token-based, Design System with Figma / Figma Tokens Plugin / Supernova / Github by defining flexible, tested, robust and expandable components, incl. json based design tokens. Furthermore you continue the existing documentation of the components (incl. tokens) in a clear and easy understandable way utilizing Supernova.

As an positive, pro-active communicator, you will be co-working with various roles such as product leaders, designers, agile coaches, project managers, development colleagues across the entire Design Ops scope to establish and mature cohesive and effective design cultures and a drive the development of robust design systems. This position has to be the glue between designers and development.

In your role, you will be further responsible for the selection, onboarding, and administration of tools used by UX designers, UI designers, and UX writers. You will also be responsible for training (or arranging for training) team members on those tools, as well as establishing best practices.

You will be accountable for the success of planning, communicating, testing, documenting the design system including all Figma components.
